RBSE Class 12 Results: A Five-Year Trend Analysis

The wait for Rajasthan Board of Secondary Education (RBSE) Class 12 students is finally over. The results for the Arts, Commerce, and Science streams were officially announced on Tuesday, March 31st, at 10:00 AM. Every year, the board releases results for millions of students across the state, and this year is no different. With over nine lakh students having appeared for the examinations, the announcement marks a crucial moment for young learners and their families.

Looking at the past five years of data reveals interesting patterns in student performance and passing rates. This analysis provides a clear picture of how results have evolved across different streams, helping stakeholders understand the academic landscape better.

Five-Year Performance Overview

The overall passing percentages across all three streams have remained consistently high over the last half-decade. While there have been minor fluctuations, the general trend points toward stability and, in some cases, notable improvement. Below is a year-wise breakdown of the passing rates for each stream:

  • 2025: Arts 97.78%, Commerce 99.07%, Science 98.43%
  • 2024: Arts 96.88%, Commerce 98.95%, Science 97.73%
  • 2023: Arts 92.35%, Commerce 98.01%, Science 97.39%
  • 2022: Arts 96.33%, Commerce 97.53%, Science 96.53%
  • 2021: Arts 99.19%, Commerce 99.73%, Science 99.52%

Arts Stream Highlights

The Arts stream has demonstrated remarkable consistency, with passing rates staying above 92% throughout the five-year period. The highest performance was recorded in 2021 at 99.19%, while 2023 saw a slight dip to 92.35%. In 2025, the stream recovered to 97.78%, indicating a solid rebound. The stream continues to attract the largest number of students, with over 5.87 lakh registrations in 2025 alone.

Commerce Stream Highlights

Commerce has consistently delivered the strongest results among all three streams. Even in 2023, when other streams experienced minor setbacks, Commerce maintained an impressive 98.01% pass rate. The 2025 figures show 99.07% of Commerce students successfully clearing their examinations. This stream also recorded the highest pass percentage in 2021 at 99.73%, showcasing exceptional academic performance.

Science Stream Highlights

The Science stream has shown steady growth over the years, moving from 96.53% in 2022 to 98.43% in 2025. The stream witnessed its peak performance in 2021 with a 99.52% pass rate. With over 2.73 lakh registered candidates in 2025, Science remains a popular choice among students aiming for careers in engineering, medicine, and technology.

Detailed Analysis of 2025 Results

Arts Stream Breakdown

The 2025 Arts stream results reveal interesting gender-based insights. Out of 5,87,444 registered students, 5,78,164 appeared for the examinations, and 5,65,346 successfully passed. Female students outperformed their male counterparts with a pass rate of 98.42% compared to 97.09% for males. A significant portion of students, 3,87,054, secured first division marks, while 1,65,128 achieved second division and 13,102 received third division classifications.

Commerce Stream Breakdown

Commerce stream results for 2025 show exceptional performance with 27,750 out of 28,010 appearing candidates passing the examinations. Female students again led the way with a 99.27% pass rate, while male students achieved 98.97%. The majority of successful candidates, 22,001 students, secured first division marks, demonstrating the high caliber of Commerce education in the state.

Science Stream Breakdown

The Science stream saw 2,67,864 out of 2,72,138 appearing students pass in 2025. The gender gap was slightly more pronounced here, with female students achieving 99.02% pass rate versus 98.07% for males. Notably, 2,41,318 students secured first division marks, reflecting the rigorous academic standards maintained in this stream.

Comparative Analysis of 2024 Results

Arts Stream Performance

The 2024 Arts stream results showed strong performance with 5,51,789 students passing out of 5,69,575 who appeared. The overall pass percentage stood at 96.88%, with female students again outperforming males at 97.86% compared to 95.80%. The stream registered 5,78,494 candidates, maintaining its position as the most popular choice among Class 12 students.

Science Stream Performance

In 2024, the Science stream recorded a total pass percentage of 97.73%. Out of 2,58,071 appearing candidates, 2,52,205 successfully cleared the examinations. The results showed 1,61,014 male students and 91,191 female students passing, with female students achieving a higher pass rate of 98.90% compared to 97.08% for males.

Key Observations and Trends

Several notable patterns emerge from this five-year analysis. Female students have consistently outperformed male students across all streams, a trend that has remained stable throughout the period. The Commerce stream has maintained the highest passing rates, while the Arts stream shows the most variability in performance. The slight dip in 2023 across all streams was followed by a strong recovery in subsequent years, suggesting that the board and educational institutions have effectively addressed academic challenges.

The overall stability in passing rates indicates that Rajasthan’s secondary education system has maintained high standards while adapting to changing educational requirements. These consistent results reflect the dedication of teachers, students, and the board in maintaining academic excellence across the state.
