BSEB Extends DElEd JEE 2026 Application Window
The Bihar School Examination Board (BSEB) has announced a welcome extension for candidates preparing for the DElEd Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) 2026. Revised Application Timeline
Initially, the online application and fee submission window for the DElEd JEE 2026 was scheduled to run from 11 December 2025 to 24 December 2025. However, under notification number PR 331/2025, the board has now extended this period. Candidates can now submit their applications and pay the required fees from 26 December 2025 through 9 January 2026. It is important to note that all other terms and conditions outlined in the earlier notification, PR 323/2025, remain unchanged and will continue to apply.
Scope of the Extension
The board has clarified that this extension applies exclusively to the online application form submission and the payment of examination fees. Both processes must be completed within the newly announced deadline. The entire application procedure is conducted online through the official BSEB website, and no offline submissions will be entertained under any circumstances.
Seat Distribution and College Details
The DElEd entrance examination will facilitate admissions to a total of 30,800 seats across 306 DElEd colleges in Bihar. These admissions are designated for the academic session spanning 2026–2028. The seat allocation has been structured as follows:
- 50 percent of seats reserved for students from the science stream
- 50 percent of seats reserved for students from the arts and commerce streams
Additionally, candidates who studied Urdu as a subject at the intermediate (plus two) level will benefit from a 10 percent horizontal reservation. This provision ensures that students with proficiency in Urdu receive fair representation in the admission process.
Examination Schedule and Admission Process
According to the calendar released by the examination board, the online examination is tentatively scheduled to take place between 19 January and 18 February 2026. Results are expected to be announced in March 2026, following the successful completion of the examination.
Subsequent stages of the admission process, including the release of the first, second, and third merit lists, choice locking, seat allocation, and the slide-up procedure, are slated to commence from the final week of March. The entire admission cycle is expected to conclude by the end of June 2026, with the new academic session beginning in July 2026.
