CBSE Announces Live Webcast Ahead of Board Exams 2026
The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has scheduled a live webcast on February 13 to brief schools, teachers, and examination staff about the latest guidelines and procedures for the upcoming Board Examinations 2026. The session will cover key updates, including the new on-screen marking system and other significant changes introduced for this academic year. All affiliated institutions have been directed to participate in this mandatory broadcast.
Exam Schedule and Scale
According to the board, the Class 10 and Class 12 examinations will commence on February 17, 2026, and continue until April 10, 2026. This year, approximately 4.6 million students from over 31,000 schools across India and 26 other countries will appear for the exams. The tests will be conducted at more than 8,074 examination centers both domestically and internationally.
Key Changes for 2026
The board has introduced three major reforms for the 2026 examination cycle:
- Students of Class 10 will now have the option to appear for two board examinations instead of one.
- Answer sheets for Class 12 will be evaluated through an on-screen marking system.
- Class 10 question papers for Science and Social Studies will follow a new format and division of marks.

The live webcast is scheduled to begin at 11:00 AM on February 13, 2026, and will run for approximately two hours. The session will be streamed live on the board’s official YouTube channel. Mandatory Instructions for Schools
The board has issued specific directives that all schools must follow regarding the webcast:
- Schools must ensure adequate arrangements for viewing, including proper screen display, sound systems, and a stable internet connection.
- The live stream must be shown under the supervision of the school principal.
- Teachers teaching Classes 9 through 12, along with all staff involved in examination duties, are required to watch the webcast and take notes on the instructions provided.
- Participants who have questions may submit them via email during or after the session.
Reporting Requirements via ASAR App
Following the webcast, every school is required to upload specific information to the ASAR application. This includes geotagged photographs of the participants, the total count of attendees, and a copy of the official notice related to the program.
Opening Address by Board Chairperson
The session will begin with a keynote address from the CBSE Chairperson, Rahul Singh (IAS). The board has emphasized that this webcast is designed to support schools in strengthening their preparation for the forthcoming examinations.
