IAF and IIT Madras Join Forces for Indigenous Airborne Communication Systems
In a significant move toward defence self-reliance, the Indian Air Force’s Software Development Institute (SDI) and the Indian Institute of Technology Madras have formalised a partnership to design and develop an indigenous digital communication system tailored for airborne applications. The Memorandum of Understanding was signed by Air Vice Marshal R Guruhari, Commandant of SDI; Professor V Kamakoti, Director of IIT Madras; and Dr M J Shankar Raman, CEO of Pravartak Technologies Foundation.
