NBEMS Enters Guinness World Records With Massive AI Healthcare Live Stream

In a landmark achievement for medical education in India, the National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS) has secured a Guinness World Record for hosting the largest live-streamed lesson on artificial intelligence in healthcare on YouTube. The record-breaking session drew an extraordinary 17,999 concurrent viewers, marking a significant milestone for digital learning in the medical sector.

A Historic Feat in Digital Medical Education

Operating under the Central Ministry of Health, NBEMS accomplished this remarkable feat during a nationwide online training initiative designed specifically for registered medical practitioners across the country. The live training session, held on Wednesday, witnessed an unprecedented simultaneous viewership that surpassed all previous records in this category.

This achievement underscores the growing acceptance and enthusiasm for AI-driven healthcare solutions among medical professionals in India. The record was officially certified following a rigorous evaluation and verification process conducted by officials from Guinness World Records.

Comprehensive AI Training for Medical Professionals

The online training program was meticulously designed to equip doctors nationwide with both fundamental and practical knowledge of artificial intelligence applications in healthcare. The initiative was conceptualized under the visionary leadership of Dr. Abhijat Shet, who serves as both the President of NBEMS and Chairman of the National Medical Commission (NMC).

The curriculum comprises 20 comprehensive modules delivered over a six-month period. Participants benefit from the expertise of distinguished educators from leading national and international institutions, including:

  • Harvard University, United States
  • Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Lucknow
  • Indian Institute of Science (IISc) Bangalore

Notably, NBEMS has confirmed that participation in this training program is completely free of charge, eliminating any financial barriers for interested medical professionals.

Program Implementation and Coordination

The planning and execution of this digital e-learning initiative were spearheaded by Dr. Rakesh Sharma, a member of the NBEMS governing body, alongside Dr. AVS Suresh from Hyderabad. Their efforts were supported by the dedicated NBEMS team, who collaborated with both national and international AI specialists to ensure the program’s success.

The official evaluation of this record attempt was led by adjudicator Swapnil Dangrikar, who headed a team appointed by Guinness World Records. Following an exhaustive review and verification process, the achievement received its official certification.

Digital India Vision Driving Innovation

Dr. Abhijat Shet attributed this accomplishment to the visionary leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who has consistently championed Digital India initiatives, technological innovation, and the responsible integration of artificial intelligence in governance and public service delivery.

“This recognition from Guinness World Records represents more than just a numerical achievement,” Dr. Shet remarked. “It stands as compelling evidence of India’s leadership in embracing digital innovation within medical education.”

He further emphasized NBEMS’s unwavering commitment to advancing competency-based education and its dedication to continuously improving healthcare quality throughout the nation through pioneering initiatives.

Gratitude and Collaborative Success

Expressing appreciation for the collective effort, the NBEMS President extended heartfelt thanks to Union Health Minister J.P. Nadda, ministry officials, faculty members, academic partners, and the participating doctors whose engagement made this milestone possible.

“Medical education must evolve in tandem with global advancements,” Dr. Shet stated. “Our objective extends beyond producing skilled professionals to nurturing future-ready healthcare leaders who can harness emerging technologies responsibly. This record is not merely about numbers—it demonstrates NBEMS’s readiness to progress with a changing world.”

Overwhelming Response From Medical Community

The program witnessed remarkable participation from doctors affiliated with both government and private institutions nationwide. This enthusiastic response clearly signals the rapidly growing interest in artificial intelligence among India’s healthcare professionals and their willingness to embrace technological advancements in their practice.

As artificial intelligence continues to reshape the healthcare landscape, initiatives like this position India’s medical community at the forefront of innovation, ensuring that practitioners are well-equipped to leverage these transformative technologies for improved patient care and outcomes.
