NCHM JEE 2026 Registration Deadline Extended

The National Testing Agency (NTA) has announced an extension for the National Council for Hotel Management Joint Entrance Examination (NCHM JEE) 2026 application window. Candidates now have an additional two months to complete their registration process for this highly anticipated hospitality management entrance test.

Prospective applicants can now submit their online applications until March 25, 2026. The registration portal remains active on the official NTA examination website, allowing aspirants ample time to prepare and submit their forms without the pressure of an imminent deadline.

Exam Schedule and Format

According to the official notification released by the NTA, the NCHM JEE 2026 examination is scheduled to take place on April 25, 2026. The test will be conducted in Computer-Based Test (CBT) mode across 120 examination centres spread throughout the country. Candidates will be required to appear for the examination between 11:00 AM and 1:00 PM on the designated date.

Participating Institutions

The entrance examination serves as the gateway for admission into some of the most prestigious hotel management institutions across India. Successful candidates will gain entry into the following categories of institutions:

  • 21 Central Institutes of Hotel Management
  • 33 state government-operated institutes
  • 1 public sector undertaking (PSU) institute
  • 2 SIHMs operating under the PPP model
  • 25 private hotel management institutions

Application Fee Structure

The application fee for NCHM JEE 2026 has been categorised based on the candidate’s reservation category. The fee details are as follows:

  • General and OBC-NCL categories: ₹1,000
  • General-Economically Weaker Section (EWS): ₹700
  • Scheduled Caste (SC), Scheduled Tribe (ST), and Third Gender: ₹450

All application fees must be remitted through online payment methods. Candidates are advised to verify their category eligibility before proceeding with the fee payment to ensure a smooth registration experience.

Examination Pattern and Marking Scheme

The NCHM JEE 2026 will comprise a total of 120 multiple-choice questions distributed across five distinct sections. The subject areas covered in the examination include:

  • English Language proficiency
  • Aptitude for the Service Sector
  • General Knowledge and Current Affairs
  • Reasoning and Logical Deduction
  • Numerical Ability and Analytical Aptitude

The marking scheme awards four marks for every correct response, while one mark is deducted for each incorrect answer. This negative marking system underscores the importance of accurate answering and strategic attempt planning during the examination.

Important Recommendations for Applicants

Candidates are strongly encouraged to thoroughly review the official notification document before initiating the application process. Understanding eligibility criteria, documentation requirements, and examination guidelines beforehand can prevent last-minute complications. Additionally, applicants should regularly monitor the NTA website for any updates or announcements pertaining to the examination schedule, admit card release, or other critical information.

The extended deadline provides a valuable opportunity for aspirants who may have missed the initial registration window. With the additional time now available, candidates can ensure their applications are complete and accurate, giving themselves the best possible chance at securing admission to their preferred hotel management institution.
