Record Participation: 187 Schools Register for Indian Schools Convention 2026

The upcoming Indian Schools Convention, scheduled for March 26, 2026, has drawn an overwhelming response from educational institutions across the country. Set to take place at the India International Centre in New Delhi on the auspicious occasion of Shri Ram Navami, the event is being organized by the Center for Namo Studies in collaboration with its media center.

This year’s convention carries special significance as it has been dedicated to the memory of Padma Bhushan Ratan Tata, the renowned industrialist and philanthropist whose lifelong contributions to nation-building and social development continue to inspire generations.

Convention Theme and Focus Areas

The central theme of this year’s gathering is “Empowering School Education for National Development under the National Education Policy.” The organizers have deliberately kept the event free of any registration fees for participating schools, ensuring maximum accessibility and inclusivity.

Professor Jasim Mohammad, President of the Center for Namo Studies, confirmed that 187 schools from diverse states have already completed their registration for both the convention and the associated Principal, Management, and School Awards 2026. This impressive number reflects the growing enthusiasm within the educational community for collaborative dialogue and recognition of excellence.

Geographic Diversity and Institutional Representation

The participating institutions represent a broad cross-section of India’s educational landscape. Nominations have poured in from numerous states, including:

  • Jammu & Kashmir
  • Uttarakhand
  • Jharkhand
  • Punjab
  • West Bengal
  • Maharashtra
  • Delhi
  • Uttar Pradesh
  • Haryana

Notably, the registrations encompass government-run schools, private institutions, and independent educational organizations, highlighting the unifying spirit of the initiative.

Awards and Recognition Framework

During the convention, outstanding schools will be honored with certificates of merit and commemorative mementos. Additionally, exceptional principals will receive the Principal Excellence Award in recognition of their leadership and contributions to educational advancement.

Dr. Deeba, co-coordinator of the Indian Schools Convention, elaborated on the awards structure, noting that the categories have been thoughtfully designed to acknowledge excellence across both rural and urban educational settings. This inclusive approach ensures that institutions operating in varied contexts receive appropriate recognition for their achievements.

Emphasis on NEP 2020 Vision

A significant highlight of the program will be the emphasis on the transformative vision outlined in the National Education Policy 2020. The convention aims to spotlight the policy’s core objectives, including holistic education, skill development, innovation, and the integration of modern technology within classrooms. These elements collectively represent a roadmap for reshaping India’s educational framework to meet contemporary challenges and opportunities.

Javed Rahmani, a senior journalist and member of the event organizing committee, provided updates on the selection process. With the nomination deadline having passed on March 12, the jury panel comprising senior educationists from the Center for Namo Studies is currently conducting a thorough review of all applications received. The evaluation process is designed to identify institutions and principals who have demonstrated exceptional innovation, leadership, and excellence in the field of school education.

Creating a National Platform for Educational Dialogue

Coordinators Professor Divya Tanwar and Dr. Daulat Ram Sharma jointly emphasized the broader vision behind the convention. They described it as a national platform designed to bring together teachers, school leaders, and academic institutions for meaningful exchange of ideas, celebration of achievements, and thoughtful deliberation on the future trajectory of school education in India.

The event promises to serve as a catalyst for strengthening the educational ecosystem, fostering collaboration among stakeholders, and reinforcing the collective commitment to nurturing the next generation of learners. With the jury review currently underway and anticipation building across the country, the Indian Schools Convention 2026 is poised to become a landmark gathering in the realm of school education.
