How the Feature Works
This convenience is currently available within the PhonePe app. Once you enable the setting, the process is straightforward: open the app, give your phone a shake, and the QR code scanner opens automatically. From there, you can scan any merchant code and complete the transaction in seconds. It is particularly useful at retail shops, food stalls, or anywhere you need to pay without delay.
However, there is an important security consideration. The feature only activates when the PhonePe app is already running in the background on your phone. This ensures that accidental shakes do not trigger the scanner when you are not intending to make a payment.
Step-by-Step Guide to Enable Shake & Pay
If you want to use this shortcut, follow these simple steps:
- Open the PhonePe app on your smartphone.
- Tap on the profile icon located at the top left corner of the home screen.
- Scroll down the menu until you find the option labeled Shake & Scan.
