Realme Expands P-Series with Massive Battery Focus

Realme has introduced a new addition to its P-series lineup, the Realme P4x 4G, designed specifically for users who prioritize battery life over 5G connectivity. Initially launched in Malaysia, this model takes a different approach from its 5G counterpart that is already available in India. Instead of next-generation network speeds, the company has packed in an enormous 8,000mAh battery, making it a compelling option for heavy users and mobile gamers who dislike frequent charging breaks.

Pricing and Color Options

The Realme P4x 4G is currently offered in a single configuration with 4GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage. In Malaysia, this variant is priced at MYR 799, which translates to roughly ₹18,000 in Indian currency. Buyers have two color choices: Rally White and Phantom Blue, both of which present a clean and modern aesthetic.

Display and Build Quality

The smartphone features a generous 6.8-inch HD+ LCD display that provides ample screen real estate for watching videos and playing games. A 120Hz refresh rate ensures smooth scrolling and fluid animations, while the 900 nits peak brightness allows for decent visibility even under direct sunlight. For durability, the device comes with an IP64 rating for dust and water resistance, along with military-grade shock resistance to protect against accidental drops.

Performance and Software

Under the hood, the Realme P4x 4G is powered by a T7250 octa-core processor, which handles everyday tasks and moderate gaming without much trouble. Storage can be expanded via a microSD card slot if the built-in 256GB proves insufficient. The phone runs on Realme UI based on Android 16, ensuring access to the latest software features. A standout addition is Google Gemini AI support, which can be activated directly by pressing the power button, offering intelligent assistance on the go.

Battery and Charging Capabilities

The defining feature of this device is its 8,000mAh battery, one of the largest in its segment. Realme claims this allows for up to 10 hours of continuous gaming on a single charge. To refill such a large battery quickly, the phone supports 45W SuperVOOC fast charging. A large 11,124mm² cooling system helps manage heat during extended gaming sessions. Additionally, reverse charging is available, enabling users to charge accessories like earbuds or another smartphone directly from this device.

Camera Setup

On the rear, a 50-megapixel primary camera handles photography duties, capable of capturing detailed and vibrant images in good lighting conditions. For selfies and video calls, there is a 5-megapixel front-facing camera. While this setup is not aimed at photography enthusiasts, it covers the basics for everyday users.

Additional Features

  • Security: A side-mounted fingerprint sensor is integrated into the power button for quick and reliable unlocking.
  • Connectivity: Dual SIM support and a 3.5mm headphone jack are included for wired audio.
  • Customization: A customizable notification LED allows users to set personalized alerts.

Availability and Alternatives

At present, Realme has not announced any plans to launch the P4x 4G in India or other global markets. The device is targeted primarily at budget-conscious buyers in Malaysia. For Indian consumers seeking similar performance, the existing Realme P4x 5G model remains a viable option, offering 5G connectivity along with a slightly different feature set.
