Record-Breaking Registration for PM Modi’s Pariksha Pe Charcha 2026
The ninth edition of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s flagship annual initiative, Pariksha Pe Charcha, has witnessed an overwhelming response, with registrations surpassing the three crore mark. This surge in participation underscores the program’s growing resonance among students, educators, and parents across the nation.
According to officials from the Ministry of Education, the registration drive for the much-anticipated event has exceeded all previous milestones. To facilitate the selection of participants, an online multiple-choice question competition is currently underway on the MyGov portal. This screening process, which began on December 1, will remain open until January 11, offering a window for eligible candidates to showcase their knowledge.
The competition is open to a wide demographic, including students from classes 6 through 12, as well as teachers and parents. This inclusive approach ensures that the dialogue surrounding exam stress and holistic development reaches all stakeholders involved in the academic journey of a child.
Insights from the Ministry
A senior official from the Ministry of Education confirmed the impressive turnout, stating that the response reflects the immense trust and enthusiasm that the Prime Minister’s interactive sessions have generated over the years. The official noted that the event, scheduled to take place at the end of this month, is poised to be the largest yet.
Reflecting on the Previous Edition
The eighth edition of Pariksha Pe Charcha, broadcast on February 10 of the previous year, set a high benchmark for engagement. Held at the Sunder Nursery in the national capital, the event adopted an innovative format that brought together 36 students from diverse educational backgrounds. These participants represented a broad spectrum of institutions, including government schools, Kendriya Vidyalayas, Navodaya Vidyalayas, Sainik Schools, Eklavya Model Residential Schools, and CBSE-affiliated schools from various states and union territories.
Beyond the main interaction, that edition featured seven distinct episodes covering a range of pertinent themes such as sports, discipline, mental health, nutrition, technology, financial literacy, creativity, and positivity. These episodes incorporated inspirational insights from renowned personalities, adding depth to the conversation on student well-being.
A Guinness World Record Achievement
The momentum behind Pariksha Pe Charcha reached a historic high in 2025 when the event secured a place in the Guinness World Records. The previous edition saw participation from students in over 245 countries, teachers from 153 countries, and parents from 149 countries, highlighting the global appeal of the initiative.
The growth trajectory of the program is nothing short of remarkable. From a modest beginning of 22,000 participants in its inaugural edition in 2018, the initiative has expanded exponentially. The eighth edition in 2025 alone recorded a staggering 3.56 crore registrations.
Furthermore, the nationwide public movement activities associated with Pariksha Pe Charcha 2025 drew an additional 1.55 crore participants. This brought the total engagement for the event to nearly five crore, cementing its status as one of the most extensive educational outreach programs in the world.
As the countdown to the ninth edition begins, the overwhelming response signals a continued commitment to fostering a stress-free and positive approach to examinations among the youth of India.
