Jamia Millia Islamia (JMI) has officially released the admission timeline for its schools for the upcoming academic session 2026-27. Parents and guardians looking to enrol their children in classes from Nursery through Grade 1 can now prepare to submit their applications within the specified window.
Key Dates for Nursery to Class 1 Admissions
The online registration process for entry-level classes will open on January 7, 2026, and will remain active until January 27, 2026. Applicants are required to complete the registration process through the university’s official admission portal. A non-refundable application fee of ₹500 is applicable for candidates seeking admission to these classes.
The admission procedure for these grades will be conducted at two prominent institutions under the JMI umbrella: the Mushiur Fatima Nursery School and the Syed Abid Hussain Senior Secondary School (S/F). Parents are advised to keep these details in mind while planning their application strategy.
Admission Window for Classes 6 to 11
For students aiming to secure a seat in higher grades, the application process for Classes 6 through 11 will commence on February 5, 2026. The deadline for submitting applications for these classes has been set for March 5, 2026.
When it comes to Class 11 admissions specifically, the university has outlined a separate timeline. Students interested in pursuing Science, Arts, or Commerce streams can submit their applications between February 20 and March 20, 2026. The application fee for Class 11 admissions remains consistent at ₹500. These admissions will be facilitated across three institutions: Jamia Senior Secondary School, Jamia Girls Senior Secondary School (S/F), and the Syed Abid Hussain Senior Secondary School (S/F).
Distinct Process for Balak Mata Centres
In a notable deviation from the standard procedure, admissions to the Balak Mata Centres will follow a different schedule and method. Application forms for these centres will be made available starting March 5, 2026, with a final submission deadline of April 20, 2026.
Unlike the online process for other schools, applicants for the Balak Mata Centres must obtain and submit physical application forms. These forms can be submitted in hard copy at designated locations, including Matia Mahal, Kassabpura, and Beriwala Bagh. The application fee for these centres is significantly lower, set at just ₹50.
