KMAT 2026 Exam Rescheduled to February 22; Registration Window Now Open Until February 5

Candidates preparing for MBA admissions in Kerala have received an important update regarding the Kerala Management Aptitude Test (K-MAT) 2026. The Commissioner of Entrance Examinations (CEE), Kerala, has officially revised the examination date. The test will now be conducted on February 22, 2026, instead of the previously announced schedule. Along with this change, the deadline for submitting online applications has also been extended, giving aspirants additional time to complete their registration.

Revised Application Timeline and Registration Process

As per the updated schedule, interested and eligible candidates can submit their applications until 4:00 PM on February 5, 2026. The entire registration process will be conducted online through the official CEE Kerala website. Applicants are advised to complete their submissions well before the deadline to avoid any last-minute technical difficulties or server congestion.

Category-Wise Application Fees

The application fee structure for KMAT 2026 has been categorized based on the candidate’s community or reservation status. Below is the detailed breakdown:

  • Candidates belonging to the General and SEBC (Socially and Economically Backward Classes) categories are required to pay a fee of ₹1,000.
  • Applicants from the Scheduled Caste (SC) community will need to pay a reduced fee of ₹500.
  • Candidates belonging to the Scheduled Tribe (ST) category are completely exempted from paying any application fee.

Computer-Based Test Format and Structure

The KMAT 2026 will be administered as a Computer-Based Test (CBT) across all districts of Kerala. The examination is designed to assess candidates’ aptitude and readiness for management education. The total duration of the test will be three hours, during which candidates will need to answer a comprehensive set of questions.

The question paper will consist of 180 multiple-choice questions in total. Each question carries 4 marks, making the overall examination worth 720 marks. It is important to note that negative marking will be applicable, with 1 mark being deducted for every incorrect answer. This scoring pattern emphasizes the need for accuracy and strategic attempt selection during the test.

Sections and Subjects Covered in the Exam

The KMAT 2026 syllabus has been designed to evaluate a candidate’s overall competency across multiple domains essential for management studies. The examination will feature questions from the following key areas:

  • English Language Usage and Reading Comprehension – testing proficiency in grammar, vocabulary, and the ability to understand written passages.
  • Quantitative Aptitude – assessing mathematical skills and numerical problem-solving abilities.
  • Data Sufficiency – evaluating the capacity to analyze data and determine whether provided information is adequate to answer a given question.
  • Logical Reasoning – measuring analytical thinking and the ability to identify patterns, sequences, and relationships.
  • General Knowledge and Current Affairs – testing awareness of national and international events, along with general awareness topics.

These sections collectively aim to provide a holistic assessment of a candidate’s intellectual capabilities and their potential to succeed in a rigorous management curriculum.

Minimum Qualifying Marks for Admission Eligibility

Securing admission to MBA programs through KMAT requires candidates to achieve a minimum threshold of marks. The qualifying criteria vary depending on the candidate’s category:

  • For General and SEBC category candidates, the minimum qualifying score is set at 10% of the total marks, which translates to 72 marks out of 720.
  • For candidates belonging to the Scheduled Caste (SC), Scheduled Tribe (ST), and Persons with Disability (PD) categories, the minimum qualifying requirement is 7.5% of the total marks, equivalent to 54 marks.

Candidates who successfully qualify the KMAT 2026 examination will become eligible for admission to MBA courses offered by various universities in Kerala, their respective departments, and affiliated management colleges, including autonomous institutions. However, it is essential to understand that qualifying the entrance test does not guarantee direct admission. The KMAT score serves as a foundational eligibility criterion, and the actual admission process may involve additional steps such as group discussions, personal interviews, or counseling procedures as determined by the respective institutions.

All aspiring candidates are strongly encouraged to visit the official CEE Kerala website to review the detailed information bulletin, verify their eligibility, and complete their applications within the stipulated timeframe. Keeping track of official announcements and preparing thoroughly for the examination will be crucial for success in the KMAT 2026.
