Final Day to Register for CUET PG 2026
Today, January 14, 2026, marks the last opportunity for candidates to submit their applications for the Common University Entrance Test for Postgraduate programmes (CUET PG) 2026. The National Testing Agency (NTA), the body responsible for conducting this examination, will close the online application portal at the end of the day. Aspirants who have not yet completed their registration must do so without further delay by visiting the official NTA website.
Application Correction Window
For those who have already applied, the NTA has scheduled a dedicated correction window from January 18 to January 20, 2026. During this three-day period, candidates will be allowed to make necessary amendments to their submitted application forms. It is important to note that the agency will only accept applications submitted through the online portal. Forms sent via post, courier, or any other offline method will be rejected outright.
Courses and Participating Universities
The CUET PG 2026 examination will open doors to admission across a wide range of academic disciplines. A total of 157 subjects are covered under this entrance test, providing opportunities for students to secure seats in postgraduate programmes offered by central universities, state institutions, deemed universities, and private colleges located throughout the country.
Exam Structure and Duration
The upcoming CUET PG examination will be conducted in a computer-based test (CBT) format. Candidates will face a total of 75 multiple-choice questions, and the entire test must be completed within a two-hour time frame. The question paper carries a maximum score of 300 marks, with four marks awarded for every correct response and one mark deducted for each incorrect answer. This marking scheme is designed to assess both the depth of subject knowledge and the ability to manage time effectively under pressure.
The examination is scheduled to take place in March 2026 across multiple cities in India. To accommodate the large number of applicants, the test will be held in several phases. The NTA has arranged examination centres in more than 200 cities nationwide, ensuring that candidates from various regions have convenient access to appear for the test.
Application Fee Structure by Category
The registration fee for CUET PG 2026 varies according to the applicant’s category. Candidates belonging to the General category are required to pay a fee of 1,400 rupees for up to two test papers. If they wish to appear for additional test papers beyond the initial two, an extra charge of 700 rupees will apply for each additional paper.
For applicants falling under the General-EWS (Economically Weaker Sections) and OBC-NCL (Other Backward Classes – Non-Creamy Layer) categories, the fee structure is slightly different. These candidates need to pay 1,200 rupees for up to two test papers, and 600 rupees for every additional test paper they choose to take.
Fees for Reserved Categories and International Applicants
Candidates from Scheduled Caste (SC), Scheduled Tribe (ST), Third Gender, and Persons with Disabilities (PwD/PwBD) categories have a reduced fee obligation. They are required to pay 1,000 rupees for up to two test papers, with an additional fee of 600 rupees for each extra test paper.
For applicants residing outside India, the fee is considerably higher. International candidates must pay 7,000 rupees for up to two test papers, and 3,500 rupees for each additional test paper they wish to include in their application.
