UPSC Expands Helpline Services for CSE 2026 and IFoS 2026 Candidates

The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has announced a significant upgrade to its call centre operations, extending service hours and doubling support capacity to better assist candidates applying for the Civil Services Examination (CSE) 2026 and the Indian Forest Service (IFoS) Examination 2026. This move is designed to provide smoother guidance throughout the application window and beyond.

Extended Availability Across the Full Week

In a notable shift from previous arrangements, the UPSC helpline will now operate every single day of the week, including Saturdays, Sundays, and public holidays. The service will run in two shifts from 7:00 AM to 9:00 PM, ensuring that aspirants can seek assistance even outside standard office hours. This extended schedule is particularly beneficial for working professionals and students who may not have the flexibility to call during regular business times.

The decision reflects the Commission’s commitment to reducing the stress associated with the application process. Candidates often face last-minute queries regarding form submission, document uploads, and fee payments. With the helpline now available late into the evening and on weekends, these concerns can be addressed promptly without unnecessary delays.

Doubled Capacity for Faster Resolution

Alongside the extended hours, UPSC has doubled the capacity of its call centre team. This enhancement aims to significantly cut down waiting times for candidates reaching out with questions about their applications or seeking clarification on exam-related details. The increased manpower is expected to deliver quicker, more effective responses, allowing aspirants to resolve their issues in a single interaction rather than waiting in long queues.

This capacity boost is a direct response to the high volume of calls typically received during the application season. By expanding the support team, the Commission hopes to handle a larger number of queries simultaneously, ensuring that no candidate is left without timely guidance.

Commitment to a Smoother Examination Process

Dr. Ajay Kumar, Chairman of UPSC, emphasized that this expansion is part of a broader series of measures aimed at simplifying the examination journey for candidates. He noted that the Commission is continuously working to make the entire process more candidate-friendly, transparent, and accountable. The enhanced helpline is one of several initiatives introduced to foster better communication between aspirants and the Commission.

These improvements are particularly crucial during the application phase, when candidates need reliable support to navigate the online portal, verify eligibility criteria, and ensure their submissions are error-free. The extended call centre operations are expected to bridge the gap between the Commission and applicants, enabling faster problem resolution and reducing the likelihood of errors caused by confusion or lack of information.

Encouraging Proactive Use of the Helpline

UPSC has urged all candidates to make full use of the call centre for any information or assistance they require. The Commission advises aspirants to complete all application formalities well ahead of the deadline to avoid any last-minute technical glitches or unforeseen issues. With the helpline now more accessible than ever, candidates have no reason to delay seeking help.

The move has been widely welcomed as a progressive step towards modernizing the examination support system. By prioritizing candidate convenience, UPSC is setting a positive example for other recruiting bodies. The extended hours and increased capacity are expected to alleviate much of the anxiety that typically accompanies the application process, allowing candidates to focus their energy on preparation rather than administrative hurdles.

As the application window for CSE 2026 and IFoS 2026 progresses, this enhanced support system will play a vital role in ensuring a seamless experience for thousands of aspirants across the country. The Commission’s proactive approach demonstrates its dedication to not only conducting fair and rigorous examinations but also supporting candidates at every stage of their journey.
