Uttar Pradesh Board Extends Class 12 Practical Exam Deadline to February 13

The Uttar Pradesh Madhyamik Shiksha Parishad (UPMSP) has announced a significant extension for the Intermediate (Class 12) practical examinations scheduled for 2026. In a move designed to support students, the board has set a new final deadline of February 13, 2026, for both completing the practical exams and uploading the corresponding marks to the official portal.

This decision comes as a direct response to the challenges faced by numerous schools across the state, where a substantial number of practical assessments were still pending and many results had not yet been submitted online. The extension offers much-needed relief to students whose schools had been unable to finalize the practical examination process within the original timeframe.

Revised Schedule and Original Timeline

Initially, the practical examinations were structured in two distinct phases. The first phase was scheduled to run from January 24 to February 1, while the second phase was planned for February 2 through February 9. However, a comprehensive review conducted by the board revealed that a considerable number of schools had not completed all the required practical tests. Furthermore, in several instances, the marks for those exams that had been conducted were still pending upload on the board’s online system. These discrepancies prompted the board to revise the schedule and provide the extended deadline.

Key Directives for Schools and Examiners

In an official statement, the board’s secretary has issued clear and firm instructions to all examiners and school principals. They are now required to ensure that any remaining practical examinations are completed without delay and that the marks for all students are uploaded to the board’s official website by the new deadline of February 13, 2026. This directive is mandatory and leaves no room for further postponement.

  • The UPMSP has extended the practical exam deadline to February 13, 2026, from the original end date of February 9.
  • The decision was made in the best interest of students, as many schools had pending practicals and unsubmitted marks.
  • All examiners and principals must ensure 100% of the marks are uploaded to the official portal by the new deadline.
  • The board has warned that any negligence leading to a delay in results will be treated as a serious offense.

Accountability and Responsibility

The board has adopted a strict stance regarding compliance with the new timeline. The official guidelines state that if marks are not uploaded within the stipulated period and this results in any student’s results being affected or delayed, the responsibility will lie squarely on the concerned examiner, the school’s principal, and the District Inspector of Schools (DIOS) for that particular district. This measure is intended to ensure that all parties involved take the process seriously and adhere to the deadlines.

The primary objective of this extension is to facilitate a smooth and timely declaration of results for all students. By providing this additional time, the UPMSP aims to eliminate any administrative or technical hurdles that could potentially disrupt the announcement of the final results. The board is committed to ensuring that every student’s performance is accurately recorded and that their academic progress is not hindered by procedural delays. This proactive approach underscores the board’s dedication to student welfare and the smooth operation of the examination process.
