ISC Class 12 Board Examinations Begin Tomorrow Across CISCE-Affiliated Schools
The Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations (CISCE) is set to commence the ISC Class 12 board examinations for 2026 starting tomorrow, February 12. The first paper will be Psychology, marking the beginning of a comprehensive examination schedule that will run through April 6. Approximately 1.5 lakh students are expected to appear for the Class 12 examinations this year.
Examination Schedule and Subject Coverage
According to the official date sheet released by the board, the examinations will be conducted over a span of nearly two months, concluding on April 6. The CISCE has scheduled examinations for 50 subjects at the Class 12 level. In comparison, the ICSE Class 10 examinations will cover 75 subjects. The board has carefully structured the timetable to provide students with adequate preparation time between major subject papers wherever possible.
Key Guidelines for Students Appearing in the Exams
The ISC theory examinations will begin at 2:00 PM and will have a duration of three hours. Students will receive an additional 15 minutes before the start of the exam to read through the question paper thoroughly. The board has issued clear instructions requiring all candidates to arrive at their examination centres at least 30 minutes prior to the scheduled start time. Carrying the admit card is mandatory for entry into the examination hall, and students without valid admit cards will not be permitted to sit for the exams.
Psychology Paper Structure and Revised Syllabus
The first examination, Psychology, will consist of a theory paper carrying 70 marks along with a project work component worth 30 marks. The revised syllabus for ISC Psychology 2026 encompasses several key areas of study. Students will be assessed on their understanding of intelligence and aptitude, personality theories, lifespan development, stress and its management techniques, psychological disorders and therapeutic approaches, social cognition and behaviour, attitudes, as well as the application of psychology in environmental and social contexts.
