MHT CET 2026 Application Window Extended: New Deadlines Announced

The Maharashtra Common Entrance Test Cell has officially extended the registration window for MHT CET 2026, offering candidates additional time to complete their applications. This entrance examination serves as the primary gateway for admission into engineering, pharmacy, and agriculture programs across the state. Students who have not yet submitted their forms can now do so through the official portal before the revised cutoff dates.

Revised Registration Timeline

According to the latest notification released by the examination authority, the updated application schedule is as follows:

  • Without late fee: February 24, 2026
  • With late fee: February 27, 2026

Candidates are strongly advised to avoid waiting until the final hours to submit their applications. Heavy server traffic or unexpected technical glitches could prevent last-minute submissions, leading to unnecessary complications.

APAAR ID Now Mandatory for All Applicants

A significant change has been introduced in this year’s application process. Every candidate must now possess a valid APAAR ID to complete their MHT CET registration. Those who do not yet have this identification will need to generate it through DigiLocker before proceeding with their application. Without a valid APAAR ID, the application form cannot be successfully submitted.

Exam Schedule and Structure

The MHT CET 2026 examination will be conducted in two distinct phases. Candidates have the option to appear for either one or both attempts, with the better score being considered when preparing the final merit list.

First Attempt

April 11 to April 26, 2026

Second Attempt

May 10 to May 17, 2026

The examination will be held entirely in online mode as a computer-based test at various centers throughout Maharashtra. Separate examinations will be conducted for the PCM (Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics) and PCB (Physics, Chemistry, Biology) groups, with two shifts scheduled each day:

  • Morning shift: 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM
  • Afternoon shift: 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM

Step-by-Step Application Guide

For candidates who have yet to register, the following procedure outlines the complete application process:

  • Navigate to the official MHT CET website.
  • Locate and click on the registration or apply online link on the homepage.
  • New applicants should select the register option and provide their name, email address, and mobile number to receive login credentials.
  • Access the main application form using the provided login details.
  • Fill in personal and academic information carefully, ensuring all details are accurate.
  • Upload the required documents in the specified formats.
  • Proceed to pay the application fee. Note that payments made after February 24 will incur an additional late fee charge.
  • Review all entered information thoroughly before clicking the final submit button.
  • Download and print both the completed application form and payment receipt for future reference.

While the deadline has been extended, this is widely considered to be the final opportunity for candidates to register. Prospective applicants are urged to complete their registration promptly to avoid unnecessary stress and additional financial penalties. Acting now ensures a smooth application experience and allows ample time to focus on examination preparation.
