The Gujarat Secondary and Higher Secondary Education Board (GSEB) has officially kicked off the Class 10 and Class 12 board examinations today, February 26, 2026. This year, a remarkable number of over 15 lakh students are appearing for these crucial exams at various examination centers spread throughout the state. State Education Minister Rivaba Jadeja extended her heartfelt wishes to all candidates appearing in the exams. In her statement, she highlighted that the education department, along with the police and district administration, has worked diligently to guarantee a safe testing environment. To assist students facing any difficulties, a dedicated helpline number has also been made available, ensuring prompt support whenever needed.
Exam Schedule and Timings
The GSEB SSC (Class 10) examinations are scheduled to take place from 10:00 AM to 1:15 PM. Meanwhile, the GSEB HSC (Class 12) exams will be conducted from 10:30 AM to 1:45 PM. Students are advised to reach their respective centers well in advance to avoid any last-minute hassle.

Passing Criteria and Marks Required
To successfully clear the GSEB SSC and HSC board examinations in 2026, students must secure a minimum ‘D’ grade, which falls within the score range of 33 to 40 marks. In practical terms, candidates are required to obtain at least 33 marks out of 100 in each subject to pass.
For those students who score less than 33 marks in the external (theory) examination or receive an E1 or E2 grade, there is still an opportunity to pass. They will need to appear for the improvement or supplementary examinations. Through these exams, students can enhance their scores and ultimately be declared successful in the board examinations.
