Delhi CM Shri School Admissions 2026-27: Application Window Now Open

The Directorate of Education, Delhi, has officially launched the admission process for CM Shri Schools for the upcoming academic session 2026-27. Students seeking admission to Classes 6, 9, and 11 can now submit their applications online. The application window opened on 27 February 2026 and will remain active until 12 March 2026.

How to Apply

Prospective students and their parents can complete the application process by visiting the official education department website. It is essential to submit the form well before the closing date to ensure consideration. Late submissions will not be entertained under any circumstances.

Eligibility Criteria

As per the official notification, only students who are residents of Delhi and were enrolled in a recognised school within the national capital during the 2025-26 academic session are eligible to apply. Applicants must carefully review the eligibility requirements before filling out the form, as applications that do not meet these mandatory conditions are likely to be rejected.

Reservation Policy: 50% Seats for Government School Students

A significant highlight of this admission cycle is the reservation policy. Half of the total available seats will be reserved for students who have successfully completed Classes 5, 8, and 10 from Delhi government schools. The remaining seats will be open to other eligible candidates who fulfil the residency and educational criteria specified by the department.

Entrance Examination Schedule

Admit cards for the Chief Minister Shri Vidyalaya Entrance Examination 2026 will be issued separately. According to the department’s academic calendar:

  • Entrance tests for Classes 6 and 9 are scheduled to be conducted by the final week of March 2026.
  • The examination for Class 11 admissions will take place in May 2026.
  • The department aims to complete the entire admission process for Classes 6 and 9 by 30 April 2026.

Exam Pattern and Marking Scheme

The question paper for Class 6 will be bilingual, available in both Hindi and English. In contrast, the papers for Classes 9 and 11 will be set entirely in English. Regarding the marking scheme, there will be no negative marking in the Class 6 entrance test. However, students appearing for Classes 9 and 11 should note that incorrect answers will attract a penalty in the form of deducted marks.

In terms of total marks, the Class 6 examination will be worth 300 marks, while the tests for Classes 9 and 11 will each carry 400 marks.

About CM Shri Schools

CM Shri Schools represent a flagship initiative of the Delhi government aimed at transforming public education. These institutions are designed to offer modern infrastructure, an updated curriculum, and holistic teaching methodologies. The focus is on providing students with enriched academic experiences along with ample opportunities for co-curricular development.

The initiative was formally launched on 17 February 2026, when the Union Education Minister and Delhi’s Chief Minister jointly inaugurated the programme across 75 government schools in the city. The launch ceremony also included the official opening of a CM Shri School in the Sarojini Nagar area, marking a significant step forward in strengthening the capital’s public education system.

Parents and students are advised to keep all necessary documents ready and monitor the official channels for any updates regarding admit cards and examination schedules. Given the competitive nature of these admissions, early preparation and timely application submission are strongly recommended.
