CBSE Postpones Board Exams Across Seven West Asian Nations Amid Regional Tensions

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has announced the postponement of Class 10 and Class 12 examinations scheduled for March 2, 2026, across seven countries in the Middle East. The decision comes in response to the prevailing security situation in the region.

Affected Countries and Examination Schedule

Students appearing for board examinations in Bahrain, Iran, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and the United Arab Emirates will be impacted by this change. The board has clarified that examinations originally slated for March 2 will not proceed as planned. A review meeting has been scheduled for March 3, during which officials will assess the ground situation and determine the revised timeline for upcoming examinations.

Revised Dates and Official Communication

According to the official announcement, the board will evaluate conditions on March 3 and make decisions regarding examinations scheduled from March 5 onward. The revised date sheet will be communicated through schools, and students are advised to stay in touch with their respective institutions for the latest updates. The board has assured that all official notifications will be disseminated through proper channels to ensure clarity and transparency.

Guidance for Students

In light of the ongoing situation, CBSE has issued an advisory urging students to remain calm and continue their preparation without disruption. The board emphasizes that all official announcements will be made exclusively through schools, and students should refrain from relying on unofficial sources for examination-related information. Regular studies should proceed as normal, with the understanding that the board is prioritizing student safety and academic fairness.

Warning Against Misinformation

Amid the official announcement, a fraudulent notice has been circulating on social media platforms. The counterfeit circular falsely claims that examinations have been completely cancelled in certain countries due to global uncertainties and conflict-like conditions. CBSE has categorically dismissed this viral document as baseless and misleading.

The board has taken to its official communication channels to debunk the fake notice and has appealed to students, parents, and schools to exercise caution. Stakeholders are urged to verify any information through authorized sources only. The board reiterates that examinations will be conducted according to the officially announced schedule, with necessary adjustments communicated only through legitimate channels.

This postponement reflects the board’s commitment to ensuring the safety and well-being of students while maintaining the integrity of the examination process. Further updates regarding the rescheduled dates will be shared promptly after the March 3 review meeting.
