CBSE Dismisses Fake Circular Claiming Board Exam Cancellation

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has officially refuted a fraudulent notice circulating on social media that falsely claims the cancellation of Class 10 and Class 12 board examinations. The board has categorically stated that these rumors are completely baseless and that all exams will proceed exactly as per the published schedule.

Misleading Notice Debunked

A fabricated circular, allegedly issued by CBSE, has been widely shared across various social media platforms. The counterfeit document suggests that examinations have been called off due to global instability, conflict-like situations in certain regions, and concerns over student safety. CBSE has promptly responded by labeling this information as entirely false and misleading.

In an official statement released through its headquarters, the board addressed the viral notice directly, confirming that no such decision has been made. Students and parents have been urged to remain vigilant against such misinformation and to rely exclusively on official communications from CBSE channels.

Board Examinations Continuing as Planned

The annual board examinations for both Class 10 and Class 12 commenced on February 17, 2026, and are being conducted smoothly across examination centers nationwide. All tests are taking place on their designated dates and times, with no disruptions whatsoever.

This year, a substantial number of students have registered for the examinations:

  • Class 10: A total of 2,508,319 candidates have enrolled, comprising 1,408,546 male students and 1,099,773 female students.
  • Class 12: Registration stands at 1,859,551 candidates, including 1,027,552 male students and 831,999 female students.

The examination process is functioning without any irregularities, and the board continues to monitor all activities closely.

Strict Action Against Misinformation

CBSE has issued a stern warning regarding the dissemination of false information. Any individual or group found guilty of attempting to disrupt the examination process or spreading unverified claims will face stringent legal consequences as per existing regulations.

To ensure accountability, cyber surveillance teams are actively monitoring digital platforms under the provisions of the Information Technology Act and other applicable laws. Educational institutions have also been instructed to guide students toward authentic sources of information, emphasizing that only announcements made through the official CBSE website or verified channels should be considered trustworthy.

Advice for Students and Parents

Students and their families are strongly advised to exercise caution when encountering examination-related updates online. Unconfirmed reports and viral social media posts should be ignored entirely. The board reassures all stakeholders that the examination schedule remains unchanged and that every measure is being taken to ensure the smooth and secure conduct of the 2026 board examinations.

Any official updates, if necessary, will be communicated through proper and verified channels only.
