CBSE Issues Strict Warning to Evaluators Against Sharing Exam Details Online

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has issued a firm advisory to teachers and officials involved in evaluating answer sheets for Classes 10 and 12 board examinations. The board has explicitly prohibited any sharing of evaluation-related information on social media platforms, warning that violations could lead to legal consequences.

Growing Concern Over Social Media Posts

Sanyam Bhardwaj, the board’s Controller of Examinations, stated that CBSE has noticed several individuals associated with the evaluation process posting comments, sharing personal opinions, and discussing their experiences on various social media channels. Many of these posts, he noted, contain misleading or factually incorrect information that could create confusion among stakeholders and fuel unnecessary rumors.

The advisory comes in response to a noticeable increase in such online activity during the ongoing assessment period. According to board officials, the evaluation process is strictly confidential and governed by a clear set of rules that all participating personnel are expected to follow without exception.

Confidentiality Rules and Professional Conduct

CBSE has reiterated that the entire evaluation procedure is bound by confidentiality protocols. Sharing any information—whether accurate or speculative—about the marking process on public forums is considered a direct violation of these protocols. The board has made it clear that discussing evaluation-related matters, posting about answer sheets, or expressing personal views about the process on any digital platform is completely disallowed.

Officials emphasized that attempts to spread rumors, misrepresent facts, or disclose any aspect of the evaluation system on social media constitute a breach of professional conduct. Such actions, they warned, may invite disciplinary measures, including legal action, against the individuals involved.

What Evaluators Need to Keep in Mind

  • Avoid posting any content related to answer sheet evaluation on social media, including comments, photos, or personal observations.
  • Refrain from engaging in online discussions about examination procedures, marking schemes, or evaluation timelines.
  • Understand that confidentiality obligations remain in effect throughout and after the evaluation period.
  • Report any observed violations by peers to the appropriate board authorities.

The board’s warning serves as a reminder that the integrity of the examination system depends on the strict adherence to established guidelines. With thousands of answer sheets being assessed across the country, maintaining confidentiality is essential to ensure fairness and credibility in the evaluation process. CBSE has urged all stakeholders to cooperate fully and uphold the standards expected of them during this critical period.
