CBSE to Release Class 9 and 10 Curriculum for 2026-27 on April 2

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has confirmed that the secondary school curriculum for Classes 9 and 10 will be officially released on April 2, 2026. According to the board’s official announcement, the new syllabus will be made available to students and educators at 3:00 PM on the scheduled date. Those preparing to enter Classes 9 and 10 for the upcoming academic session 2026-27 will be able to access the curriculum through the board’s official channels as soon as it goes live.

Curriculum Aligned with National Education Framework 2023

This year marks a significant transition as CBSE implements the revised academic structure based on the National Curriculum Framework (NCF-2023). The upcoming changes will be introduced starting from Class 9, bringing a fresh approach to subject organization and learning outcomes. The board has indicated that the April 2 release will include comprehensive details about the new subject structure and the modifications students can expect in the coming session.

Special Webinar Scheduled for Syllabus Launch

In addition to the curriculum release, CBSE will host a dedicated webinar on April 2, 2026, starting at 3:00 PM. The session is scheduled to take place at the CBSE headquarters located in Sector-23, Dwarka, New Delhi. During this interactive event, officials will walk participants through the new syllabus, the scheme of studies, and the key changes being introduced. A live stream of the webinar will also be accessible through the board’s YouTube channel for those unable to attend in person.

Class 11 and 12 Curriculum Already Available

For senior secondary students, CBSE has already published the curriculum for Classes 11 and 12. This material is currently accessible on the board’s academic portal, allowing students to begin planning their subject selections well in advance of the new term.

What the Senior Secondary Curriculum Includes

The Class 11 and 12 curriculum covers all essential components required for the upcoming session, including:

  • Language subjects under Group-L
  • Academic elective options under Group-A
  • Subjects assessed through internal evaluation

This comprehensive framework is designed to assist students in making informed decisions about their subject combinations and study strategies for the new academic year.

Key Updates for Students to Remember

As the release date approaches, students should keep the following points in mind:

  • The Class 9 and 10 syllabus will be launched on April 2, 2026, at 3:00 PM
  • The Class 11 and 12 curriculum has already been made available
  • Regular updates will be posted on the official CBSE website and media channels
  • The new curriculum emphasizes competency-based education, experiential learning, and holistic development

What Changes to Expect in the Learning Approach

The revamped curriculum is built around a more dynamic and practical approach to education. With a strong focus on competency-based learning, students can expect greater emphasis on understanding concepts rather than rote memorization. Experiential learning opportunities will allow students to connect theoretical knowledge with real-world applications, while the overall design aims to support well-rounded development across academic, personal, and social dimensions. The goal is to strengthen both conceptual clarity and practical skills, preparing students more effectively for future academic challenges and career pathways.
