UP Board Extends Answer Sheet Evaluation Deadline to April 4

The Uttar Pradesh Madhyamik Shiksha Parishad (UPMSP) has announced a revised timeline for the evaluation of Class 10 and Class 12 answer sheets. Originally scheduled to conclude on April 1, the assessment process will now continue until April 4 due to public holidays observed for Eid-ul-Fitr and Ram Navami.

Revised Evaluation Timeline

The board examinations were conducted from February 18 to March 12, with approximately 5.2 million students appearing for the tests this year. The evaluation drive commenced on March 18, and officials had initially targeted completion by April 1. However, the intervening festival holidays disrupted the schedule, prompting the extension.

Following the conclusion of the evaluation phase, the board will shift its focus to result preparation. Based on past patterns, this finalization process typically requires 15 to 20 days.

Expected Result Announcement Window

Drawing from historical trends, the Class 10 and Class 12 results are likely to be published between April 15 and April 26. The board is also expected to release the list of merit holders alongside the results, as has been the practice in previous years.

Joint Release for Both Classes

In line with established precedent, the UPMSP usually announces the outcomes for Class 10 and Class 12 simultaneously. This year is anticipated to follow the same pattern, ensuring that students from both grade levels receive their results on the same day.

Minimum Passing Criteria

To successfully clear the UP Board examinations, students must secure at least 33 percent marks in each subject. This requirement applies to both theory and practical components, and passing in both segments is compulsory. In specific cases, candidates who fall marginally short in one subject may receive grace marks to help them meet the passing threshold.

Options for Unsuccessful Candidates

Students who do not manage to clear the examinations will have the opportunity to appear for compartment (supplementary) exams. The application window for these exams will open once the main results are declared, allowing affected students to avoid losing an entire academic year.

How Students Can Access Their Results

Students can view their UP Board Class 10 and Class 12 results through the official UPMSP website or authorized result portals. To ensure a smooth experience without any technical interruptions, candidates are advised to complete a simple registration process beforehand. The following steps outline the procedure:

  • Visit the official result portal of the examination board.
  • Navigate to the dedicated results section on the website.
  • Select the Uttar Pradesh board from the list of available educational boards.
  • Choose the appropriate class option — either Class 10 or Class 12.
  • Fill in the required details, including name, roll number, email address, and mobile number, then submit the information.

Once registered, students will be able to access their scores promptly when the results are officially released. The board has urged all candidates to keep their admit cards handy, as the roll number will be essential for checking results.

With the evaluation now entering its final stretch, lakhs of students and their families across the state are eagerly awaiting the outcome. The extended deadline is expected to ensure a more thorough and accurate assessment of answer sheets, ultimately benefiting the students when the results are finally unveiled in the latter half of April.
