CBSE Introduces AI and Computational Thinking Curriculum for Grades 3–8
The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has rolled out a new academic framework introducing Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Computational Thinking (CT) for students from classes 3 through 8. This initiative extends beyond CBSE-affiliated institutions, encompassing government schools across 22 states, marking a significant step toward integrating future-ready skills into India’s foundational education system.
Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan unveiled the curriculum in New Delhi, with implementation scheduled to begin in the current academic session. The new syllabus is designed to equip young learners with the ability to identify and solve everyday challenges using AI-driven approaches, preparing them for an increasingly digital world.

The newly launched curriculum features well-organized modules, detailed teacher handbooks, and a robust student assessment framework.
