NTA Opens Final Correction Window for CUET UG 2026 Photo Errors

The National Testing Agency (NTA) has issued an important update for candidates applying to the Common University Entrance Test (CUET UG 2026). Students whose application forms contain photo-related discrepancies now have a final opportunity to fix these issues. With the examination scheduled to begin soon, applicants are urged to review their submitted details without delay, as even minor errors could lead to serious consequences.

Who Needs to Act Immediately?

According to the NTA, a significant number of applicants have uploaded photographs that are either unclear or do not meet the prescribed specifications. These candidates have been granted a correction window running from April 7 to April 10, 2026. During this period, affected students can log in to the official portal and replace their faulty images. The CUET UG 2026 examination is set to take place between May 11 and May 31, 2026, leaving limited time for resolution.

Why Does the Photo Matter So Much?

The agency has confirmed that examination centers will employ artificial intelligence-based facial recognition technology to verify candidate identities. If your uploaded photograph is blurry, outdated, or incorrectly formatted, the verification process could fail. In such cases, entry to the examination hall may be denied, and in extreme situations, the application itself could be invalidated.

To ensure no candidate is caught off guard, the NTA has already started sending alerts via email and SMS to those whose photos have been flagged as problematic. If you have not received such a notification, it is still advisable to double-check your application status.

Guidelines for an Acceptable Photograph

To avoid any last-minute complications, candidates must ensure their photograph meets the following standards:

  • The background must be plain white with no patterns or shadows.
  • The face should occupy at least 80 percent of the frame and be fully visible.
  • Both ears must be clearly discernible in the image.
  • If wearing spectacles, ensure there is no glare or reflection on the lenses.
  • Sunglasses and tinted eyewear are strictly prohibited.
  • The photo must be recent, sharp, and taken against proper lighting.

Step-by-Step Process to Correct Your Photo

Candidates who need to update their photograph can follow these simple steps:

  • Visit the official CUET website and navigate to the applicant login section.
  • Enter your application number and password to access your dashboard.
  • Look for the link labeled “Correction Window” or “Photo Correction.”
  • Upload a new, high-quality photograph that complies with all specifications.
  • After submission, download and save the confirmation page for future reference.

Deadline Awareness Is Critical

The photo correction facility will remain active only until April 10, 2026. No extensions or additional chances will be provided beyond this date. The NTA has clearly stated that failure to rectify the issue within the stipulated timeframe will result in the non-issuance of the admit card. In severe cases, the application may be canceled altogether.

Education experts also recommend that candidates verify their signature along with the photograph. The signature must match the format used during the application process and should be clear enough for verification purposes. Adhering to all technical requirements now will prevent unnecessary stress on the day of the examination.

Applicants are advised to complete the correction process well before the deadline to avoid server congestion or technical glitches on the final day. Taking proactive steps today ensures a smooth and hassle-free examination experience tomorrow.
