JEE Main 2026 Results Expected on April 20; JEE Advanced Registration to Open April 23
The National Testing Agency (NTA) is set to announce the JEE Main 2026 results on April 20. Candidates who appeared for the engineering entrance exam will have their final merit list prepared based on their best score across the January and April sessions. Following the result declaration, the registration window for JEE Advanced 2026 will open on April 23.
Qualification Criteria and Advanced Exam Details
Approximately the top 2.5 lakh successful candidates from JEE Main will qualify to appear for JEE Advanced 2026. The exam will be conducted by IIT Roorkee, which serves as the organizing institute this year. The Advanced examination is scheduled for May 17, with results expected to be released on June 1.
A senior official from the NTA confirmed that the April session of JEE Main was conducted between April 2 and April 8. The examination was held across 14 cities in India as well as several international locations.
Candidate Participation and Upcoming Schedule
This year, the April session saw participation from 11.23 lakh candidates, while the January session recorded 11.06 lakh test-takers. The official further noted that all question papers from the April session will be uploaded to the public domain on April 9, allowing candidates to access them for reference.
The answer key for Paper-1 is scheduled for release on April 11. Candidates who wish to challenge any answers in the provisional key can do so by paying a fee of Rs. 200 per question. This challenge window provides an opportunity for aspirants to raise objections if they believe any answer is incorrect.
