MP Board Class 12 Results 2026: Overall Pass Percentage Climbs to 76.01%

The Madhya Pradesh Board of Secondary Education (MPBSE) has officially released the Class 12 examination results for the academic year 2026. The announcement was made on April 15, 2026, during a press conference that students across the state had been eagerly awaiting. This year, the overall pass percentage has shown a notable improvement, with 76.01% of students successfully clearing the examinations.

Breaking down the figures, male students recorded a pass rate of 72.39%, while their female counterparts outperformed them once again with an impressive success rate of 79.41%. The trend of girls achieving better results than boys continues this year, reinforcing a pattern that has been observed in recent years.

District-Level Standouts: Jhabua and Morena Take the Lead

When examining performance at the district level, Jhabua emerged as a standout performer among both regular and private students. Meanwhile, Morena distinguished itself in the category of government and non-government school results, registering some of the strongest outcomes in the state.

Government Schools Outperform Private Institutions

This year’s results highlight a significant achievement for government-run educational institutions. Schools under the state government achieved an overall pass percentage of 80.43%, substantially higher than the 69.67% recorded by non-government schools. This marks a noteworthy accomplishment for the public schooling system in Madhya Pradesh.

Merit List Highlights: Girls Dominate the Top Ranks

A total of 221 students secured positions on the merit list this year. The gender distribution within this prestigious list is particularly striking, with 158 girls and only 63 boys earning a place. This further underscores the superior academic performance of female students across the state.

Year-on-Year Improvement in Results

Comparing this year’s outcomes with the previous year reveals a positive trend. In 2025, the pass percentage for regular examinees stood at 74.48%. The 2026 results show an increase to 76.01%, representing a year-on-year improvement of 1.53 percentage points. This upward trajectory suggests that educational initiatives and student efforts are yielding tangible results.

Stream-Wise Merit List Breakdown

Science Stream (Biology Group)

The merit list for the science stream’s biology group features 45 students. The top position is held by one student, followed by another student at the second rank, and three students sharing the third position. This competitive field showcases the academic excellence present in the science discipline.

Commerce Stream

In the commerce stream, 63 students have earned places on the merit list. The rankings include two girls at the first position, four students at the second rank, and six students at the third position. The strong representation of female students at the top of this list reinforces the pattern of girls excelling in academic pursuits.

Fine Arts and Home Science

Three students have secured positions in the merit list for the fine arts and home science faculty. Shaistah Quraishi claimed the top spot with an impressive 485 marks out of 500. Shaivah Quraishi followed closely with 479 marks for second place, while Kumkum Ahirwar secured third position with 478 marks.

Meet the Topper: Shlok Prajapati’s Journey to Success

In the science (mathematics) stream, Shlok Prajapati from Nutan Higher Secondary School has achieved an outstanding feat by securing 98.6% marks, placing him first across the entire state. His accomplishment is all the more remarkable given his background. Shlok comes from a modest middle-class family, with his father Vinod Prajapati working as a pump operator at the housing board.

Shlok’s success story is built on consistent effort and dedication. He maintained regular school attendance while dedicating three to four hours daily to self-study. Interestingly, he had also performed admirably in Class 10, securing the seventh rank at that time. Looking ahead, Shlok has set his sights on clearing the civil services examination with the goal of becoming a collector, a dream that seems well within reach given his demonstrated academic capabilities.

Post-Result Services: Answer Sheet Copies and Re-evaluation

Students who wish to obtain a copy of their answer sheets or request re-evaluation can do so within ten days of the result declaration. Applications must be submitted online through the designated state portal. It is essential for students or their guardians to provide a valid email address during the application process, as the answer sheet copies are sent directly to the provided email. Alternatively, applications can also be submitted through the official mobile application.

Correction of Errors and Marks Improvement

For students who identify clerical errors in their marksheets, the board offers a correction facility. Such errors can be rectified free of charge if reported within three months of the result announcement. However, students who seek corrections after this deadline will be required to pay a prescribed fee for the service.

Students also have the option to apply for marks improvement through the official mobile applications available for download from the Google Play Store. These digital platforms have streamlined the process, making it more convenient for students to access board services without visiting physical offices.

How Students Can Access Their Results

Students who appeared for the examinations can easily check their results through various online platforms. The process requires entering the roll number, after which the result is displayed immediately on the screen. This user-friendly approach has simplified the result-checking process for thousands of students across the state.

The release of the Class 12 results marks a crucial milestone for students as they transition to higher education or professional careers. With improved pass percentages, strong performances from government schools, and continued excellence from female students, the 2026 results reflect a positive trajectory for secondary education in Madhya Pradesh.
