WBBSE Announces Madhyamik Result Date for 2026

The West Bengal Board of Secondary Education (WBBSE) has officially confirmed the release date for the Madhyamik (Class 10) examination results. According to a formal press statement issued on April 17, the much-awaited outcomes will be published on Friday, May 8, 2026.

In its official notification, the board stated that the results for the Secondary Examination 2026 would be made public on the specified date, with further instructions to follow in due course. This announcement brings clarity to the thousands of students who have been eagerly awaiting their performance reports since the examinations concluded earlier this year.

A Significant Milestone for Over Nine Lakh Students

This year’s Madhyamik examination witnessed participation from more than nine lakh candidates across the state. The sheer scale of the examination underscores its importance in West Bengal’s academic framework. Students, parents, and educational institutions alike have been closely monitoring any updates regarding the result declaration timeline.

The examination was conducted from February 2 to February 12, 2026. The results are scheduled to be announced just 85 days after the final paper was held, reflecting the board’s commitment to a reasonably swift evaluation process.

Exam Statistics and Candidate Breakdown

Approximately 9.71 lakh candidates appeared for the Madhyamik examination this year, spread across 2,682 examination centres located throughout the state. The candidate profile includes:

  • 5,44,606 female students
  • 4,26,733 male students
  • 1 candidate registered under the transgender category

These figures highlight the extensive reach of the examination and the logistical coordination required to conduct such a large-scale academic assessment.

Official Guidance for Students

The board has emphasised the importance of relying solely on official channels for accurate information. In its press release, WBBSE advised all candidates to stay connected with official board communications to receive timely updates regarding result access and any subsequent instructions.

Once the results are declared, students will be able to view their scores through the board’s official websites and other authorised platforms. To access results online, candidates will need to provide their roll number, date of birth, and other required credentials. Additionally, an SMS-based result service will be available, ensuring that students in areas with limited internet access can also obtain their results without difficulty.

Preparing for Result Day

With the announcement now official, students are advised to keep their admit cards and other necessary documents readily available. It is also recommended to verify personal details well in advance to ensure a smooth experience when accessing results. The board’s decision to offer multiple result-checking methods demonstrates its effort to accommodate students from diverse backgrounds and regions.

As the date approaches, further notifications from the board are expected, including details about mark sheets, certificates, and any supplementary examination procedures. Students should maintain regular contact with their schools and official board announcements to stay informed about all post-result processes.
