UPMSP Class 12 Results 2026: Girls Continue Their Winning Streak, Yet 2022 Record Remains Unbeaten

The Uttar Pradesh Madhyamik Shiksha Parishad (UPMSP) has officially released the Intermediate examination results for 2026, and the latest data reveals a familiar pattern: female students have once again outperformed their male counterparts. However, despite the strong showing, the overall pass percentage has fallen short of the record set in 2022 by nearly five percentage points.

This year, a total of 25,75,460 students appeared for the Class 12 examinations. Of these, 24,86,072 successfully cleared the exams, resulting in an overall pass rate of 80.38 percent. The gender-wise breakdown shows that out of 13,67,903 boys who took the test, 13,09,397 passed, achieving a pass percentage of 75.04. Meanwhile, 11,76,675 out of 12,07,557 girls emerged successful, securing an impressive 86.32 percent pass rate.

A Five-Year Performance Overview

An analysis of the last five years of Intermediate examination results highlights a consistent trend of fluctuation in overall pass percentages. Yet, one constant remains: girls have maintained their academic edge over boys every single year. The data from 2022 through 2026 clearly illustrates this enduring pattern of female superiority in examination outcomes.

2022: The Benchmark Year

The year 2022 stands as the benchmark for academic performance in recent history. A total of 24,10,971 students appeared for the examinations, with 22,37,578 clearing them successfully. This translated to an impressive overall pass percentage of 85.33. Breaking it down, 12,07,451 out of 13,23,956 boys passed (81.21 percent), while 10,30,127 out of 10,87,015 girls succeeded, achieving a remarkable 90.15 percent pass rate.

2023: A Noticeable Dip

The following year witnessed a significant decline in overall performance. With 27,68,180 examinees, the total number of successful candidates stood at 25,71,002, bringing the overall pass percentage down to 75.52. Boys recorded a pass rate of 69.34 percent, while girls continued to excel with an 83.00 percent success rate.

2024: Signs of Recovery

In 2024, the results showed improvement. Out of 25,78,007 students who appeared, 24,52,830 cleared the examinations, pushing the overall pass percentage to 82.60. The gender-wise performance saw boys achieving a 77.78 percent pass rate, while girls maintained their lead with 88.42 percent.

2025: Steady Performance

The 2025 examinations saw 27,05,009 students participate, with 25,98,560 emerging successful. The overall pass percentage was recorded at 81.15 percent. Boys achieved a 76.60 percent pass rate, whereas girls once again dominated with 86.37 percent.

2026: Consistent Yet Short of Record

This year’s overall pass percentage of 80.38 percent represents a solid performance but falls 4.95 percentage points short of the 2022 record. While the results have shown gradual improvement since the 2023 dip, no year has managed to surpass the exceptional figures achieved in 2022. Nevertheless, the consistent outperformance of girls remains a defining feature of these results.

The Gender Gap in Academic Achievement

The persistent gap between male and female students’ performance deserves attention. Over the past five years, the difference in pass percentages has ranged from roughly 9 to 14 percentage points, with girls consistently on the higher end. This trend reflects broader educational developments and suggests that female students in Uttar Pradesh are leveraging educational opportunities with remarkable success.

Several factors may contribute to this phenomenon, including changing social attitudes toward girls’ education, increased government initiatives promoting female enrollment, and the demonstrated determination of female students to excel academically. The data underscores the importance of continued support for girls’ education while also highlighting the need to investigate and address the factors behind boys’ comparatively lower performance.

How Students Can Access Their Results

Students who appeared for the UPMSP Class 10 and Class 12 examinations can easily check their results through the official board website. The process is straightforward and requires only basic information.

  • Visit the official UPMSP results portal
  • Select the “UP Board” option from the list of educational boards
  • Choose the appropriate link for either Class 10th or Class 12th results
  • Enter your roll number, registration number, or roll code in the designated fields
  • Click the submit button to view your results
  • Use the download option to save a digital copy of your marksheet for future reference

The release of these results marks an important milestone for the lakhs of students who appeared for the examinations. For those who have succeeded, this achievement opens doors to higher education opportunities and career pathways. For those who may not have performed as expected, the results serve as a learning experience and motivation for future attempts.

As the academic year progresses, educational institutions across the state will begin their admission processes, and students are advised to keep their mark sheets and related documents readily available. The UPMSP has also made provisions for re-evaluation and scrutiny of answer sheets for students who wish to challenge their results, providing an additional layer of transparency and fairness to the examination process.

The 2026 results reinforce the ongoing narrative of female academic excellence in Uttar Pradesh while also reminding us that there is always room for improvement in overall educational outcomes. As the state continues to invest in its educational infrastructure and policies, the hope remains that future results will not only match but surpass the benchmark set in 2022, benefiting students of all genders equally.
