UP Board Announces Class 10 and 12 Toppers for 2026

The Uttar Pradesh Madhyamik Shiksha Parishad (UPMSP) officially released the results for both Class 10 and Class 12 board examinations on Thursday afternoon. The announcement was made from the board’s headquarters in Prayagraj, bringing an end to the anxious wait for millions of students across the state. Alongside the overall pass percentages, the board has also published the much-anticipated list of students who secured the top positions in both examinations this year.

This year, the spotlight shines brightly on two young women who have demonstrated exceptional academic dedication. In the Class 10 examinations, Kashish Verma and Anshika Verma have jointly claimed the top spot, while Shikha Verma has emerged as the state topper in the Class 12 examinations with an impressive score of 97.60 percent.

Class 10 Toppers: A Tale of Two Achievers

The Class 10 results saw a tie for the first position, with both Kashish Verma and Anshika Verma securing an outstanding 97.83 percent. Kashish, a student from Sitapur, has brought immense pride to her district with this remarkable achievement. Anshika, hailing from Barabanki, has matched this exceptional performance, showcasing the high level of academic excellence present in the region.

Interestingly, both toppers share a common academic background. They are students of the same institution, Babu Ram Savitri Devi School in Mahmudabad. Their journey to the top was not without its challenges. Kashish has spoken about her struggles, revealing that her mother played a pivotal role in her success. During late-night study sessions, whenever Kashish would feel overwhelmed and drift off to sleep, her mother would gently wake her up and encourage her to continue, ensuring she stayed on track to achieve her goals.

The overall pass percentage for the Class 10 examinations this year stands at 90.40 percent, reflecting a strong performance by students across the state.

Class 12 Topper: Shikha Verma’s Standout Performance

In the senior secondary examinations, Shikha Verma has emerged as the state topper. Her score of 97.60 percent places her at the pinnacle of academic achievement in Uttar Pradesh for the 2026 session. Like the Class 10 toppers, Shikha is also a student of the Babu Ram Savitri Devi School in Mahmudabad, making it a memorable year for the institution.

The Class 12 examinations recorded an overall pass percentage of 80.38 percent, indicating a steady academic performance among senior secondary students.

Rewards and Recognition for Top Performers

The state government has a well-established tradition of honouring students who achieve the highest marks in the board examinations. The student who secures the state’s top position is awarded a cash prize of one lakh rupees, along with a laptop and a certificate of merit. This recognition is designed to encourage academic excellence and motivate students to strive for their best.

Furthermore, students who top their respective districts are also acknowledged for their efforts. They receive a cash prize of 21,000 rupees along with a certificate, ensuring that exceptional performance is celebrated at the local level as well.

A Look Back at Last Year’s Toppers

For context, the previous year’s results saw Yash Pratap Singh from Jalaun secure the top position in the Class 10 examinations with a score of 97.83 percent. In the Class 12 examinations, Mahak Jaiswal had topped the state with an impressive 97.20 percent. This year’s results continue the trend of high achievement, with students surpassing or matching these previous benchmarks.

Students across the state can now access their individual results through official channels. The process has been designed to be straightforward and user-friendly, ensuring that students and their families can easily view and download their mark sheets. The steps are as follows:
