HPBOSE Class 10 Results 2026: A Significant Leap in Pass Percentage

The Himachal Pradesh Board of School Education (HPBOSE) has officially announced the results for the Class 10 examinations. The much-anticipated outcome was released at approximately 11:00 AM, bringing an end to the wait for over 93,000 students across the state. This year’s results reflect a notable improvement, with an overall pass percentage of 83.87%, marking an increase of 4.79 percentage points compared to the previous academic year.

State Topper and Top Rank Holders

Anmol, a student from A.V.M Senior Secondary School in Pahra, Kangra district, has emerged as the state topper. She secured an impressive 699 marks out of a possible 700, achieving a remarkable percentage of 99.86%. Her outstanding performance has set a high benchmark for academic excellence in the state this year.

The second position is shared by three students, all of whom secured 698 marks (99.71%). These high achievers include:

  • Abhinav Mehta from Government Senior Secondary School, Rapoh Missran, Una
  • Purnima Sharma from Government Girls Senior Secondary School, Bilaspur
  • Roohani Dhiman from Government Senior Secondary School, Rapoh Missran, Una

Following closely, the third rank is also shared by two students who each scored 697 marks (99.57%):

  • Ashwika Sharma from Neelam Public Senior Secondary School, Bihru (Bijhri)
  • Alisha Thakur from Oxford School, Kotli, Mandi

Fourth Place Achievers

Two students have secured the fourth position with 696 marks. Shruti, a student from Dhruv Adarsh Vidyalaya in Chiyachi, Solan, and Asmita Sharma from Kid Buds Public Senior Secondary School, Panga (Bijhri), have both demonstrated exceptional academic capabilities with their consistent performance.

Evaluation Process and Examination Framework

The board had established approximately 41 evaluation centers throughout the state to manage the assessment process efficiently. Around 5,000 teachers were deployed to evaluate answer sheets for both Class 10 and Class 12 examinations. This extensive arrangement ensured a systematic and timely evaluation of student responses.

This year, the examination was conducted under the dual examination system, which has introduced some significant changes to the evaluation and result declaration process. Under this new framework, a provisional merit list has been released alongside the results. Students who are either dissatisfied with their scores or have failed in up to two main subjects will have the opportunity to appear for improvement examinations scheduled for May-June.

Result Declaration Timeline

The Class 12 results were announced earlier on May 4, 2026, and now the board has successfully completed the declaration process for Class 10 as well. Students who appeared for the examinations can now access their results through the official board website and other designated platforms.

The release of the provisional merit list is particularly noteworthy this year. This list provides an early indication of student standings and allows those who wish to improve their performance to prepare for the upcoming re-examination window. The board has been proactive in communicating these details to ensure students are well-informed about their options.

Performance Analysis and Improvement

The increase of 4.79 percentage points in the pass rate demonstrates a positive trend in academic performance across the state. This improvement can be attributed to various factors, including enhanced teaching methodologies, better student preparation, and the implementation of the dual examination system that provides additional opportunities for students to succeed.

The gender-wise distribution of top ranks shows a commendable performance by female students, with four out of the six top-three position holders being girls. This reflects the growing academic excellence among female students in the state.

Accessing Results and Next Steps

Students are advised to keep their roll numbers and other necessary credentials handy while checking their results. The board has made provisions for students to verify their scores and address any discrepancies through the proper channels. For those who wish to improve their marks, the upcoming examination session in May-June will provide them with the necessary opportunity to do so.

The successful declaration of results marks another milestone in the academic calendar of Himachal Pradesh. With the dual examination system now in place, students have greater flexibility and multiple opportunities to achieve their academic goals. The board continues to work towards enhancing the examination experience and ensuring fair and transparent evaluation processes for all students.
