Tamil Nadu SSLC Results 2026: Expected Release on May 20

The Directorate of Government Examinations in Tamil Nadu is preparing to announce the Class 10 SSLC results for 2026. According to recent media reports, the results are likely to be published on May 20. Once released, students will be able to access their scores and provisional mark sheets through the official results portal.

Students are advised to keep their registration numbers and date of birth details ready before checking their results online. The provisional mark sheet will include subject-wise marks, total scores, pass/fail status, and other essential examination-related information.

While the board has not yet confirmed an official release time, reports indicate that the results could be made available around 9:30 in the morning. Students are encouraged to check the official website periodically for updates.

Examination Schedule and Format

The Tamil Nadu SSLC examinations for 2026 were conducted across the state from March 11 to April 6. All exams were held in offline mode at designated examination centers. Each paper was scheduled in a single shift from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM. Students were also provided an additional 15 minutes before the start of each exam to read the question paper and plan their answers.

Previous Year Performance Overview

Looking back at last year’s results, the Tamil Nadu board announced the SSLC outcomes on May 16. In 2025, the overall pass percentage stood at 93.80 percent, with over 913,000 students appearing for the examinations. Female students outperformed their male counterparts significantly.

  • Girls’ pass percentage: 95.88%
  • Boys’ pass percentage: 91.74%

In 2024, the overall pass percentage was recorded at 91.55 percent. That year, approximately 894,000 students took the exams, and more than 818,000 candidates successfully cleared the examinations.

What Happens After the Results Are Announced?

Once the results are published, students can look forward to several follow-up processes. The board will provide information regarding revaluation requests, supplementary examination schedules, and the distribution of original mark sheets. All these updates will be made available through the official examination board website.

Students who wish to apply for revaluation or challenge their scores will need to follow the procedures outlined by the board. Additionally, those who do not pass certain subjects will have the opportunity to appear for supplementary exams at a later date.

Step-by-Step Guide to Check Results

Students can follow these straightforward steps to view their SSLC results once they are published:

  • Visit the official results website for Tamil Nadu examinations.
  • Look for the SSLC Examination Result 2026 link on the homepage.
  • Enter your registration number and date of birth in the required fields.
  • Click the submit button to proceed.
  • Your result will be displayed on the screen.
  • Download the provisional mark sheet and save it for future reference.

It is recommended that students keep multiple copies of their provisional mark sheets, as they may be required for admission to higher secondary education and other purposes. The official mark sheets will be distributed by schools at a later date, but the online provisional copies serve as immediate proof of performance.

Students and parents are advised to rely only on official sources for result-related information and avoid any unofficial platforms that may circulate false or misleading updates. Checking the official website directly remains the most reliable method to access accurate results.
