CBSE Extends Class 12 Scanned Answer Sheet Application Deadline to May 23

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has extended the deadline for Class 12 students to apply for scanned copies of their evaluated answer sheets. The new cutoff date is May 23, a one-day extension from the previously announced May 22 deadline. This decision comes in response to technical issues reported on the board’s official website.

Technical Glitches Prompt Extension

In an official circular released on Tuesday, CBSE acknowledged that students encountered significant difficulties while trying to access post-verification services on the website. Many candidates reported problems with logging in, processing fee payments, and opening application links. Some students also noted that their applications remained incomplete even after successful payment transactions.

The board stated that the extension aims to provide students with adequate time to complete their applications without the stress of technical interruptions. All existing terms and conditions for the process remain unchanged.

Revised Timeline for Applications and Access

The application window, which originally opened on May 19 and was set to close on May 22, will now remain active through May 23. Students who successfully submit their applications within this period will be able to view the scanned copies of their answer books between May 26 and May 29.

CBSE has urged students and parents to take advantage of the extended window to ensure their applications are submitted without any last-minute complications.

Significant Fee Reductions Announced

In addition to the deadline extension, CBSE has introduced substantial fee cuts for various post-result services this year. The fee for obtaining a scanned copy of the answer sheet has been slashed from Rs 700 to just Rs 100. Similarly, the charge for answer book verification has been reduced from Rs 500 to Rs 100.

For students seeking re-evaluation of their answer sheets, the board has set a nominal fee of Rs 25 per question. These reduced charges are expected to make the verification and re-evaluation processes more accessible to a larger number of students.

Background of the Application Process

The scanned copy facility was introduced following the completion of the board’s re-evaluation and verification procedures. This service allows students to review their evaluated answer sheets, helping them make informed decisions about whether to pursue further verification or re-evaluation of their results.

Students who had previously raised complaints about the website’s performance on social media platforms have welcomed the board’s responsive approach to addressing their concerns. The extension is seen as a student-friendly move that acknowledges the practical difficulties faced during the application process.

CBSE has advised all eligible students to complete their applications well before the new deadline to avoid any potential issues. The board has also assured students that all other aspects of the verification and re-evaluation process will proceed as per the original schedule.
