19th Rozgar Mela: PM Modi to Hand Over Appointment Letters to Over 51,000 Youth

In a significant push toward youth employment, Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to distribute appointment letters to more than 51,000 newly selected candidates during the 19th edition of the Rozgar Mela. The ceremony is scheduled for Saturday, May 23, 2026, at 11:00 AM and will be conducted via video conferencing, allowing participation from multiple locations across the country.

During the event, the Prime Minister will not only present the appointment letters but also address the gathering and interact with the newly recruited individuals. This initiative reflects the central government’s continued focus on employment generation and its commitment to integrating young talent into the public sector workforce.

A Milestone in Government Recruitment Efforts

The Rozgar Mela has emerged as a cornerstone of the government’s strategy to streamline recruitment and provide job opportunities to the youth. So far, 18 phases of this initiative have been successfully organized, resulting in the distribution of nearly 12 lakh appointment letters nationwide. Officials highlight that these drives have significantly accelerated the hiring process while ensuring transparency and efficiency in candidate selection.

The upcoming 19th edition will be held simultaneously at 47 different venues spread across various states and union territories. This widespread arrangement ensures that candidates from diverse regions can participate without the need for extensive travel, making the process more accessible and inclusive.

Opportunities Across Key Government Departments

Selected candidates in this round will be placed in several prominent ministries and departments of the central government. These include the Ministry of Railways, Ministry of Home Affairs, Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Department of Financial Services, and the Department of Higher Education. In addition, appointments will be made in various other central ministries and organizations, offering young professionals a wide range of career pathways in public service.

The government believes that these recruitment drives serve a dual purpose. On one hand, they open up stable and respectable career options for the country’s youth. On the other, they strengthen the administrative and developmental framework of the nation by filling critical vacancies with capable and motivated individuals.

Continued Commitment to Employment Generation

Over the past several years, the central government has consistently organized Rozgar Melas as part of its broader agenda to boost employment and bridge the gap between job seekers and available positions. These events are seen as a practical step toward fulfilling the Prime Minister’s vision of a self-reliant and empowered India, where the youth play a central role in nation-building.

With each successive phase, the scale and reach of the Rozgar Mela have expanded, reflecting the government’s determination to make government jobs more accessible to aspiring candidates across the country. The 19th edition is expected to continue this upward trajectory, further solidifying the initiative’s reputation as a reliable and effective platform for public sector recruitment.
