Himachal Open School Declares Results for Classes 8, 10, and 12

The Himachal Pradesh State Open School (HPSOS) has officially released the examination outcomes for the 2026 academic session across three grade levels. Students who appeared for the Class 8, Class 10, and Class 12 examinations can now access their scorecards through the official board portal by entering their roll numbers. The results have generated significant interest among candidates and their families, with thousands of students having participated in the assessments conducted earlier this year.

Class 8 Performance Overview

For the middle school level, a total of 208 candidates registered for the Class 8 examinations. Among these participants, 127 students successfully cleared the assessments, while 2 candidates were declared unsuccessful. A notable segment of 63 students will need to reappear for the examinations, and 16 candidates have had their results withheld pending further verification. The overall pass percentage for Class 8 stands at 61.06%, reflecting a moderate performance level across the cohort.

Class 10 Examination Statistics

The secondary level examinations witnessed substantially higher participation, with 3,895 candidates appearing for the Class 10 tests. Of this total, 2,129 students achieved passing grades, resulting in a pass percentage of 54.66%. The examination also saw 24 students failing the assessments, while 1,639 candidates were advised to reappear. Additionally, the board recorded 76 cases where results were pending due to eligibility concerns, 27 instances related to fee payment issues, and 20 cases involving administrative discrepancies.

Class 12 Results and Success Rate

The senior secondary examinations attracted the largest number of participants, with 5,275 students appearing for the Class 12 assessments. A total of 3,406 candidates emerged successful, securing a pass percentage of 64.57% — the highest among all three grade levels. The board reported 37 failures, while 1,662 students were required to reappear. Several result categories were also noted, including 7 pending cases due to eligibility verification, 153 cases related to outstanding fees, 8 administrative holds, 14 instances where previous results were validated, and 3 cases where prior results were cancelled.

Understanding Result Status Codes

The board has provided clarification regarding various status codes that may appear on student scorecards. These codes help candidates understand the specific circumstances affecting their results:

  • RLE indicates that the result has been delayed due to eligibility-related verification
  • RLF signifies that the result has been withheld because of pending fee payments
  • RLD denotes that the result is delayed due to administrative errors or discrepancies
  • PRS means the previous result remains valid and applicable
  • PRC indicates that the earlier result has been revoked or cancelled
  • DIS signifies that the candidate has been declared ineligible for the examination

Revaluation and Rechecking Procedures

Candidates from Classes 10 and 12 who wish to have their answer scripts reviewed have the option to apply for revaluation or rechecking services. Applications must be submitted through the respective study centres by June 10, 2026. The revaluation process requires candidates to have secured a minimum of 20% marks and applies exclusively to written examination papers. The applicable fees are set at 1,000 rupees per subject for revaluation and 800 rupees per subject for rechecking services.

Improvement Examination Opportunities

Students whose results indicate a reappear status, as well as those who have passed but wish to enhance their scores, can register for the improvement examinations scheduled for the September 2026 session. The application window opens on June 5, 2026, and closes on June 30, 2026, without any late fee charges. Candidates submitting applications between July 1 and July 13, 2026, will be required to pay a late fee of 1,000 rupees.

Step-by-Step Guide to Access Results

Students can follow these straightforward instructions to view and download their scorecards:
