UGC NET June 2026 Application Correction Window Now Open

The National Testing Agency (NTA) has activated the correction facility for applicants who submitted forms for the UGC NET June 2026 examination. Candidates who need to update specific details in their submitted applications can now log in to the official portal and make the necessary changes. This window is designed to give applicants a final opportunity to ensure their information is accurate before the examination process moves forward.

The correction facility will remain available until 11:50 PM on May 28, 2026. Applicants are strongly advised to complete any required edits well before the deadline to avoid last-minute technical issues or delays.

Eligibility Categories Covered by the Exam

This edition of the UGC NET serves as the qualifying gateway for three distinct academic purposes. It determines eligibility for the Junior Research Fellowship (JRF), confirms qualification for the role of Assistant Professor, and also facilitates admission into doctoral programs (PhD). Each of these categories carries its own set of criteria, and candidates should verify which stream they have applied under.

Looking ahead at the examination timeline, the city intimation slips will be made available for download starting June 10, 2026. Admit cards are scheduled for release on June 15, 2026. The actual examination is planned to take place over a nine-day stretch, running from June 22 through June 30, 2026.

Which Fields Can Be Edited

The correction window does not permit changes to every section of the application. It is important to understand the distinction between fields that are locked and those that remain editable. Below is a clear breakdown of what can and cannot be altered during this period.

Fields That Cannot Be Changed

  • Candidate’s full name, father’s name, or mother’s name
  • Date of birth
  • Gender
  • Category and sub-category details, including PwD or UDID status
  • Selected subject for the examination

Fields That Can Be Corrected

  • Mobile number and email address
  • Permanent and current residential address
  • Uploaded photograph and signature
  • Preferred examination city, though the NTA may reassign the final city based on availability and the updated address details

Candidates should note that the NTA reserves the right to alter the chosen examination city even after a correction is submitted, depending on operational requirements and seat availability in the requested location.

Fee Implications for Corrections

While the correction process itself is straightforward, there are financial considerations to keep in mind. If a candidate modifies their subject selection and this change results in a higher application fee, the difference must be paid before the correction is considered final. It is also important to understand that any fee already paid during the initial application process is non-refundable, regardless of the changes made now.

All edits will only be validated once any applicable additional charges have been successfully settled. Furthermore, this is a one-time opportunity. Once the corrected form is submitted, no further modifications will be permitted under any circumstances. Candidates are urged to double-check every entry before final submission.

Step-by-Step Guide to Making Corrections

To assist applicants in navigating the process smoothly, here is a simple sequence of steps to follow when updating the application form.

  1. Visit the official UGC NET portal maintained by the NTA.
  2. Locate and click on the “Candidate Login” option on the homepage.
  3. Enter your application number and password to access your dashboard.
  4. Select the “Application Correction Window” link from the available options.
  5. Choose the specific field or detail that requires modification, such as contact information or uploaded images.
  6. Enter the correct information and save the changes.
  7. Review the entire form thoroughly to confirm all details are accurate.
  8. Submit the form and download the confirmation page for your records.

Applicants are encouraged to keep a printed or digital copy of the confirmation page after submission. This serves as proof that the corrections were successfully applied and can be useful for future reference during the examination process.
