CBSE Mandates Aadhaar Authentication for Class 12 Revaluation Applications

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has activated its online portal for Class 12 answer sheet verification and revaluation requests. Students who wish to have their answer scripts rechecked or their marks reassessed can now submit applications through the official platform. This service is available for a limited window, closing on June 6, 2026.

To strengthen the security of the application process, the board has introduced a mandatory Aadhaar-based identity verification step. This measure is designed to ensure that only the genuine student can access their records and file an application, preventing any unauthorized use of academic data.

Application Window and Timeline

According to an official notice released by CBSE, the online portal for revaluation and answer book scrutiny opened on June 2 and will remain accessible until the night of June 6. Students who have already received their scanned answer sheets are eligible to apply during this period. They can request a review of their answer books to identify any potential evaluation errors, or apply for revaluation of specific questions if they are dissatisfied with their awarded marks.

Under the updated procedure, students must log in to their accounts on the CBSE website and complete the Aadhaar verification before they can proceed to the application portal. This step is a prerequisite for accessing the revaluation services.

Using Parent or Guardian Aadhaar Details

For students who do not possess their own Aadhaar card, the board has permitted the use of their parent’s, guardian’s, or a close relative’s Aadhaar information. However, it is essential that the name, date of birth, and gender entered during the verification process match the details of the individual whose Aadhaar is being used. The entire application procedure is conducted exclusively online, including the submission of the form and the payment of fees. Offline applications will not be accepted under any circumstances.

The board has also clarified that any application submitted after the specified deadline will be rejected without consideration. Students are strongly advised to complete the process well before the cutoff to avoid any last-minute complications.

Reporting Multiple Issues in a Single Application

The verification process allows students to report various types of problems they may have encountered with their scanned answer sheets. These issues can include missing pages, absent supplementary sheets, poor scanning quality, missing maps or graphs, receiving the wrong answer book, or evaluation based on an incorrect question paper set. Students have the flexibility to include multiple issues and subjects within a single application, making the process more efficient and convenient.

Payment and Application Finalization

CBSE has advised students to thoroughly review all the details they have entered before making the payment. Once the “stop payment and proceed” option is selected, no changes can be made to the application. The application is considered complete only after the online payment has been successfully processed. The applicable fees are set at Rs 100 per answer book for verification and Rs 25 per question for revaluation. Payments can be made using various digital methods, including UPI, debit cards, credit cards, and net banking.

Single Final Application and Submission Guidelines

Students are allowed to apply for revaluation of one or more questions across different subjects. When filling out the application, it is mandatory to specify the question numbers and page numbers for each request. Only one final application will be considered valid for the revaluation process. Given that modifications are not possible after submission, students must carefully review their application before finalizing it.

To assist students in navigating the process without errors, CBSE has released a comprehensive guide and a video tutorial. These resources are intended to help students fill out the form accurately and avoid common mistakes. After the evaluation is complete, students will be notified of the outcome through the official channels.

Technical Difficulties Reported on the Portal

Shortly after the portal went live, several students began experiencing technical difficulties. Complaints surfaced on social media regarding login issues, slow website performance, payment errors, and occasional complete unavailability of the site. These disruptions have raised concerns among students and parents, particularly because the application window is relatively short.

Many students have voiced their concerns and are requesting an extension of the deadline if the technical problems continue. In response, CBSE has stated that all students must complete their applications within the designated timeframe and that all previously announced rules and regulations will remain in effect. The board has not indicated any plans to extend the deadline at this time.
