Re-NEET UG 2026: PIB Debunks False Paper Leak Rumors

As the medical entrance examination season reaches its peak, a fresh wave of misinformation has emerged on social media platforms. Claims suggesting that the Re-NEET UG 2026 question paper has been leaked have been circulating rapidly, sparking anxiety among aspiring medical students across the country. Numerous posts and forwarded messages have alleged that the examination paper was exposed before the scheduled test date.

However, the fact-checking unit of the Press Information Bureau (PIB) has stepped in to clarify the situation. After a thorough investigation, the PIB has categorically dismissed these allegations as baseless and fabricated. The government’s official verification body has confirmed that the document being shared online as the leaked question paper is not authentic in any way.

Official Clarification Issued

In an official statement shared through its verified social media handle, the PIB addressed the widespread rumor directly. The fact-check team explicitly stated that the purported question paper circulating on various digital platforms bears no resemblance to the actual examination material. Labeling the claim as false, the PIB urged candidates to exercise caution and refrain from engaging with unverified examination-related content.

The bureau emphasized that students should neither trust nor share such misleading information. Instead, aspirants are advised to rely exclusively on official announcements and government sources for accurate updates regarding the examination schedule and related matters.

Re-Examination Scheduled for June 21

The central government has also made its position clear regarding any attempts to disrupt the upcoming re-examination. During a review meeting held recently, the Cabinet Secretary addressed the matter directly, stating that no compromise would be tolerated when it comes to the fairness, transparency, and smooth conduct of the examination process. Strong legal action would be initiated against any individual or group found attempting to influence or tamper with the examination proceedings.

The National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET-UG) is scheduled to be re-conducted on June 21, 2026. This re-examination comes after the government took decisive steps to ensure the integrity of the testing process and protect the interests of millions of medical aspirants nationwide.

Guidance for Candidates

In light of these developments, the PIB has issued clear guidance for students preparing for the upcoming examination:

  • Avoid relying on any unconfirmed information circulating on social media platforms regarding the examination
  • Refrain from forwarding or sharing questionable content that could create unnecessary confusion among fellow candidates
  • Seek information only from authentic and recognized official channels
  • Report any suspicious or misleading content encountered online through appropriate channels

The authorities have also established dedicated reporting mechanisms to address instances of misinformation promptly. Students who come across dubious content related to the examination are encouraged to bring it to the attention of the concerned officials. This proactive approach is designed to enable swift action against the spread of fake news and safeguard students from being misled.

Maintaining Exam Integrity

The government’s swift response to these rumors underscores its commitment to maintaining the credibility of one of the country’s most important medical entrance examinations. With lakhs of students depending on this examination to pursue their dreams of becoming medical professionals, ensuring a fair and transparent testing environment remains a top priority.

Officials have reiterated that all necessary measures are in place to conduct the examination smoothly and securely. Students are encouraged to focus their energy on preparation rather than paying heed to baseless rumors that serve no purpose other than creating unnecessary panic and distraction.

As the examination date approaches, candidates are reminded to stay calm, trust only official communications, and concentrate on their studies. The authorities continue to monitor digital platforms closely to identify and address any further attempts to spread misinformation about the examination process.
