NTA Dismisses Viral NEET UG 2026 Paper Leak Video as Fabricated

The National Testing Agency (NTA) has officially rejected a video circulating on social media that falsely claims the NEET UG 2026 question paper was leaked. In an official statement, the agency clarified that the footage is entirely fabricated and all assertions made within it are baseless and untrue.

According to the NTA, the re-examination for NEET UG was conducted successfully under comprehensive security and surveillance measures. The agency emphasized that spreading misleading information to confuse students and create unnecessary panic constitutes a serious offense. Authorities are now actively pursuing legal action against those responsible for creating and disseminating the fake video.

Legal Action Initiated Against Rumor Spreaders

The NTA confirmed that it is working in coordination with the Indian Cyber Crime Coordination Centre (I4C) and various law enforcement agencies to identify and prosecute individuals involved in manufacturing and distributing the fraudulent content. The agency has urged students, parents, and the general public to rely exclusively on information published on official websites and verified social media channels.

In its appeal, the NTA reiterated that more than two million candidates deserve a peaceful and impartial examination process, free from disruption caused by false narratives.

Massive Participation in the Re-Examination

The re-examination, held on Sunday, witnessed participation from over two million candidates across 5,440 test centers nationwide and an additional 14 centers located abroad. The examination was conducted in 13 languages, including Hindi and English, ensuring accessibility for a diverse range of students.

Abhishek Singh, Director General of the NTA, highlighted that the massive examination was organized in a record time of just 37 days, thanks to the coordinated efforts of the entire government machinery. He described the achievement as a collective triumph of “Team India,” involving approximately seven lakh officials, including police personnel, invigilators, exam staff, and experts from various academic institutions.

Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan visited the NTA headquarters in Okhla, Delhi, to review the preparations and execution of the re-examination. According to the Ministry of Education, the minister was briefed on the technological and administrative arrangements implemented to ensure a transparent and smooth conduct of the test.

Special Arrangements for Candidates with Disabilities and Medical Needs

The NTA reported that dedicated facilities were arranged for all examinees, including more than 10,000 candidates with disabilities. Additionally, special provisions were made for approximately 81 candidates facing severe medical conditions. These included a child recovering from a road accident and another candidate undergoing chemotherapy, both of whom received tailored support to appear for the examination comfortably.

Enhanced Security Protocols at Test Centers

To maintain the integrity of the examination, test centers were equipped with Aadhaar-based biometric verification, facial authentication systems, CCTV surveillance, signal jammers, and two-tier frisking procedures. State police forces were also deployed to bolster security arrangements.

For real-time monitoring, command and control centers were established at the national level involving the NTA and the Ministry of Education, as well as at 34 centrally funded institutions, all state headquarters, and district collector offices. This extensive network ensured round-the-clock oversight of examination activities.

Director General Abhishek Singh noted that several irregularities were detected and thwarted during the examination, including instances of incorrect admit cards, forged documents, and attempted impersonation. Some candidates also tried to carry mobile phones into examination halls, but stringent security measures prevented such attempts, and appropriate action was taken against the individuals involved.

Ongoing Investigation into Alleged Paper Leak

Meanwhile, the investigation into the alleged paper leak continues. In a related development, the newly formed ‘Cockroach Janata Party,’ led by Abhijeet Dipake, has been organizing protests in various parts of the country as part of its online-driven movement. The group is demanding the resignation of the Union Education Minister. The NTA acknowledged that the successful conduct of the examination was supported by the Central Armed Police Forces (CAPF) and multiple central government ministries, reflecting a whole-of-government approach to safeguarding the integrity of the examination process.
