During the operation, they reportedly seized suspicious material from several individuals present at the scene. Upon closer inspection, it was discovered that some of the questions found in their possession closely matched those intended for the upcoming TET exam. Following this revelation, a formal case was registered at the Bhiwandi police station, and the state education department moved swiftly to cancel the examination.

Priya Shinde, the Deputy Commissioner of the Maharashtra State Examination Council, confirmed the postponement. She stated that the exam, which was slated for the following day, had been deferred due to the incident in Thane. Shinde also provided key statistics, noting that a total of 1,728 examination centres had been established across the state, with approximately 600,125 candidates registered to appear for the test.

Shaikh argued that lakhs of students are suffering due to the government’s incompetence and demanded the resignation of the state’s education minister.
