DU Undergraduate Admissions 2026: Over 1.42 Lakh Registrations, 43,500+ Complete Preference Submission
The enthusiasm for undergraduate admissions at the University of Delhi for the academic session 2026-27 continues to surge. According to the university, more than 1,42,733 candidates have registered under the first phase of the Common Seat Allocation System (CSAS). Following the commencement of the second phase, over 43,547 aspirants have already submitted their selections for preferred colleges and courses.
Professor Haneet Gandhi, the Dean of Admissions at the university, confirmed that the second phase of CSAS began on July 3. Candidates are permitted to fill in their college and course preferences until 11:59 PM on July 11, 2026.
Seat Availability and Course Structure
This year, admissions will be offered across more than 71,000 seats spread over 67 affiliated colleges. The university is providing entry into 73 undergraduate programmes and over 100 BA Programme combinations. All admissions will be determined based on scores obtained in the CUET UG 2026 examination. However, it is mandatory for applicants to meet the specific eligibility criteria prescribed for each course.

During the second phase, candidates are required to map the subjects they studied in Class 12 with the corresponding subjects in the CUET examination. Only after completing this mapping process can they proceed to select their desired colleges and courses.
Simulated Rank Release Date
As per the admission schedule released by the university, the simulated rank will be displayed on the CSAS portal on July 12, 2026, at 5:00 PM. Following this, candidates will have the opportunity to modify or reorder their college and course preferences until July 13.

First Seat Allocation List
The first seat allocation list is scheduled to be published on July 16. Candidates who are allotted seats must accept them by July 18. Subsequently, the respective colleges will complete the verification of documents by July 20. The final deadline for depositing admission fees in the first phase has been set for July 21.
Key Dates for the Second Allocation Round
The second seat allocation list will be released on July 25. Candidates who receive seats in this round can accept their allotment until July 26. Colleges will verify applications by July 27, and the last date for fee submission is July 28, 2026.
New Academic Session Commencement
The new academic session at the University of Delhi is slated to begin on July 28, 2026. To participate in the admission process, candidates must register on the CSAS portal using their CUET UG 2026 application number.
The university has stated that the basic information of candidates is being automatically fetched through the Government of India’s API Setu. This initiative is expected to reduce data entry errors and enhance the overall security of the admission process.
Application Fee Structure
A one-time, non-refundable registration fee is applicable for CSAS. Candidates belonging to the General, OBC-NCL, and EWS categories are required to pay ₹250. Meanwhile, the fee for SC, ST, and Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwBD) candidates has been fixed at ₹100.
