AIBE 21 Application Correction Window Now Open Until May 3

The Bar Council of India has officially opened the correction window for applicants of the 21st All India Bar Examination (AIBE XXI). Candidates who have already registered for the exam can now log in to the official examination portal and make necessary adjustments to their submitted application forms.

This facility will remain active until May 3, 2026. To access the correction link, applicants simply need to use their registered login credentials — their user ID and password — to enter the portal and modify the relevant fields.

Fields That Cannot Be Changed After Fee Payment

While the correction window allows for edits to certain details, there are important restrictions to be aware of. Once the application fee has been paid, the following information cannot be altered under any circumstances:

  • Registered mobile phone number
  • Email address linked to the application
  • PWD (Persons with Disabilities) category status
  • Caste category
  • Preferred examination city choices

It is worth noting that the registration process for AIBE 21 concluded on April 30, 2026. The final deadline for submitting the application fee was set for May 1, 2026. Candidates who completed their registration within this timeframe are now eligible to use the correction facility.

Exam Conducted Twice a Year

The All India Bar Examination is held twice annually. Its primary purpose is to evaluate the fundamental qualifications of law graduates, ensuring they possess the necessary knowledge and competence to begin practicing as professional lawyers. Passing this examination is a mandatory requirement for those who wish to pursue a career in legal practice in India.

Admit Cards and Exam Date Announced

Admit cards for AIBE 2026 will be released on May 22, 2026. The examination itself is scheduled to take place on June 7, 2026. The test will be conducted in open book mode across 140 examination centers spread over 50 cities throughout the country.

Syllabus and Examination Pattern

The AIBE-21 examination will consist of 100 multiple-choice questions (MCQs), and candidates will be given three and a half hours to complete the paper. The questions will cover a wide range of legal subjects, including:

  • Constitutional law
  • Criminal law
  • Civil Procedure Code
  • Evidence Act
  • Family law
  • Company law
  • Environmental law
  • Cyber law
  • Labour law
  • Other significant legal disciplines

Certificate of Practice for Successful Candidates

Upon successfully clearing the examination, candidates will be awarded the Certificate of Practice (CoP) by the Bar Council of India. This certification grants them the eligibility to appear and argue before courts, tribunals, and administrative bodies across the country. It is the essential credential that formally authorizes law graduates to function as advocates in the Indian legal system.

Candidates are strongly advised to complete all necessary corrections to their application forms well before the May 3 deadline. Delaying this process could lead to complications later, so it is in every applicant’s best interest to review their submitted details carefully and make any required changes promptly. Taking this step now will help ensure a smooth experience leading up to the examination date.
