BSEB Issues Notification for Fifth Competency Exam; Online Applications Open Today
The Bihar School Examination Board (BSEB) has officially released the notification for the Fifth Competency Examination (Sakshamta Pariksha), designed for teachers working in local body institutions. Aspiring candidates can submit their applications online starting from the afternoon of December 31, 2025, with the deadline set for January 9, 2026.
According to the official notice, Shivshiksha teachers are eligible to appear for this competency examination. A uniform application fee of ₹1,100 has been set for candidates across all categories. The entire application process will be conducted through the online mode only.
Important Guidelines for Photo and Signature Upload
Candidates must pay close attention to the specifications for uploading their photographs and signatures during the application process. The scanned colored photograph should be between 20 KB and 100 KB in size, with dimensions of 3.5 cm × 4.5 cm. Similarly, the scanned signature file must fall within the range of 10 KB to 50 KB.
It is essential that the photograph is recent and features a white or light-colored background. The candidate’s face and eyes must be clearly visible, with the individual looking directly at the camera. Wearing caps, headscarves, or dark sunglasses in the photograph will not be accepted under any circumstances.
List of Required Documents
Applicants are required to upload self-attested scanned copies of the following certificates along with their application:
- Matriculation (Class 10) certificate and marksheet
- Intermediate (Class 12) certificate and marksheet
- Graduation degree certificate and marksheet
- Post-graduation degree certificate and marksheet
- B.Ed., D.El.Ed., B.Lib., or other academic qualification certificates and marksheets
- Caste certificate issued by the competent authority (for reserved category candidates)
- Aadhaar card
- TET, CTET, STET, or competency examination qualifying certificate
- Appointment letter issued by the respective employment unit
- Disability certificate issued by the competent authority (for PwD candidates)
Minimum Qualifying Marks for Different Categories
To successfully pass the competency examination, candidates must secure the minimum marks prescribed for their respective categories. The qualifying criteria have been established according to the directives of the General Administration Department, with varying thresholds for different groups.
Candidates belonging to the General category must obtain at least 40 percent marks in the examination. For the Backward Class (BC) category, the minimum qualifying percentage has been set at 36.5 percent, while candidates from the Extremely Backward Class (EBC) category need to secure at least 34 percent marks. The minimum passing percentage for Scheduled Caste (SC), Scheduled Tribe (ST), Persons with Disabilities (PwD), and female candidates has been fixed at 32 percent.
All eligible candidates are advised to complete their applications well before the closing date to avoid any last-minute technical difficulties. Ensuring that all uploaded documents meet the specified requirements will help streamline the application process and prevent unnecessary complications.
