Bihar Board Intermediate Exams 2026: Key Guidelines and Preparation Tips

The Bihar School Examination Board (BSEB) is all set to conduct the Intermediate Annual Examinations starting February 2, 2026. With over 13.17 lakh students registered for the exams, the board has established 1,762 examination centers across the state to accommodate the large number of candidates appearing for the tests.

In a recent directive, BSEB Chairman Anand Kishor has issued comprehensive instructions to district authorities to ensure the smooth and fair conduct of the examinations. Emphasizing the state government’s strict zero-tolerance policy, the chairman made it clear that any compromise on exam integrity or transparency would not be tolerated under any circumstances.

Strict Action Against Malpractices

The board has adopted a firm stance against any form of academic dishonesty. Students found involved in malpractices or unfair means during the examination will face severe consequences, including the harshest possible disciplinary action. The authorities have been instructed to take stringent measures against all those who attempt to compromise the sanctity of the examination process.

Entry Regulations and Timing

One of the most critical instructions pertains to the entry protocol at examination centers. The main gates of all examination centers will be securely closed 30 minutes before the scheduled start of the examination. Students are strongly advised to arrive at their designated centers at least one hour before the examination begins to ensure smooth entry without any last-minute rush or complications.

In a clear warning to latecomers, the board has stated that no student will be permitted entry under any circumstances once the gates are closed. Attempting to forcefully or illegally enter an examination center will be treated as a criminal offense. Such actions could lead to a two-year expulsion from examinations, along with the filing of a formal police complaint (FIR).

Additionally, center superintendents or any other identified individuals found assisting in unauthorized entry will face suspension and legal proceedings. This measure aims to maintain strict discipline and prevent any external interference during the examination process.

Comprehensive Security Measures

To ensure a fair and transparent examination environment, the board has implemented multi-layered security protocols at all centers. Students will undergo two levels of frisking before being allowed into examination halls. The board has imposed a complete ban on all electronic devices within examination premises, including:

  • Mobile phones
  • Bluetooth devices
  • Pagers
  • Electronic watches
  • Smart watches
  • Magnetic watches

To further strengthen monitoring, CCTV cameras and videographers will be mandatory at all examination centers. The board has also directed that continuous announcements be made through public address systems starting one hour before the examination begins, allowing students ample time to complete their entry procedures and settle into their designated seats without stress.

Administrative Arrangements and Control Room

In preparation for the examinations, the board chairman confirmed that all district magistrates and superintendents of police have received detailed guidelines to facilitate the smooth execution of the examination process. The education department has appointed nodal officers in every district across the state to oversee the arrangements and address any administrative concerns that may arise.

A dedicated control room has been established to ensure real-time information exchange and prompt resolution of any issues during the examination period. The control room will become operational from 6:00 AM on February 1, 2026, and will function around the clock for the entire duration of the examinations. The designated contact numbers for the control room are 0612-2232227 and 0612-2232257.

For improved coordination between the board and district authorities, dedicated WhatsApp groups have also been created. This digital communication channel will enable swift dissemination of information and facilitate quicker response times for any emerging situations.

Advice for Students

Students appearing for the examinations are urged to plan their travel to examination centers well in advance, accounting for potential traffic or other unforeseen delays. It is recommended to carry all necessary documents, including admit cards, and to cooperate fully with the security and frisking procedures at the centers. Maintaining composure and following all instructions from center authorities will ensure a hassle-free examination experience.

The board’s comprehensive preparations and strict guidelines reflect its commitment to conducting examinations with the highest standards of integrity and efficiency. With these measures in place, students can focus on performing their best without concerns about procedural disruptions.
