CBSE Acknowledges Technical Issue on Class 12 Re-Evaluation Portal
The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has officially acknowledged a technical glitch affecting its online portal for Class 12 answer sheet re-evaluation requests. In a notice released on May 20, the board confirmed that students have been experiencing difficulties while trying to log in and submit applications for scanned copies of their evaluated answer books.
This development comes after numerous students reported being unable to access the portal, leading to growing frustration among candidates awaiting their results and seeking clarity on their performance. The board has responded promptly, with a dedicated team of technical experts currently working to resolve the issue.
Expected Restoration Timeline
According to the official statement, the portal is expected to be fully operational by 2:00 PM today. The CBSE has assured students that the restoration work is underway and that the technical team is making every effort to ensure the platform is accessible as soon as possible.
The board has urged students to remain patient while the repairs are being completed. Those who require scanned copies of their answer sheets for grievance redressal purposes have been advised to submit their applications as soon as the portal becomes active again. Students seeking copies merely for personal records or future reference have been requested to wait until the re-evaluation process concludes.
Extended Application Deadline
In light of the technical difficulties, CBSE has extended the application deadline for obtaining scanned copies of evaluated answer books. Students now have until May 23, 2026, to submit their requests, instead of the previously announced May 22 cutoff. The board has clarified that all other terms and conditions remain unchanged, with only the final submission date being revised.
Revised Fee Structure
The board has also provided clarity regarding the applicable fees for various services. According to Secretary Sanjay Kumar, the charges are as follows:
- Rs. 100 for viewing a scanned copy of the answer sheet
- Rs. 100 for verification of answer books
- Rs. 25 for re-checking the response to a specific question
In a student-friendly move, the board has confirmed that if a candidate’s marks are revised upward or modified following the verification process, the entire fee paid by the student will be refunded in full.
