CBSE Adjusts Exam Schedule for Class 10 and 12 in 2026
The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has officially revised the dates for certain board examinations originally scheduled for March 3, 2026. This update applies to both Class 10 and Class 12 students and has been communicated through a formal notification on the board’s official website.
Revised Dates for Postponed Examinations
Due to administrative requirements, the exams that were set for March 3, 2026, have been moved to new dates. Class 10 examinations will now take place on March 11, 2026, while Class 12 examinations have been rescheduled for April 10, 2026. The board has confirmed that all other examinations will proceed according to the originally published timetable.
Guidance for Schools and Students
CBSE has urged all affiliated schools to promptly communicate this scheduling change to both students and their families. An updated date sheet will be released shortly, and the revised examination dates will also be reflected on the official admit cards issued to candidates. Students are encouraged to stay alert for the updated documents and verify the new dates carefully.
Uniform Exam Timings Across Subjects
According to the final schedule released by CBSE, both Class 10 and Class 12 board examinations will be conducted in a single shift. The majority of subject exams will run from 10:30 AM to 1:30 PM, ensuring a consistent and standard timing structure for all students appearing in the session.
However, the board has also introduced slight modifications for a select number of subjects. For these specific papers, the examination will be held from 10:30 AM to 12:30 PM, which is one hour shorter than the standard duration. Students are advised to carefully review both the official date sheet and their individual admit cards to confirm the exact time and duration allotted for each of their subjects.
This adjustment aims to streamline the examination process while accommodating administrative needs. Students should use this additional preparation time effectively and stay updated with any further announcements from the board regarding the 2026 examination cycle.
