CBSE Revaluation Portal Crosses 56,000 Applications While Blocking 3.8 Million Cyber Attack Packets
The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has reported a massive response to its revaluation and answer script verification portal for Class 12 board examinations. As of Wednesday night at 9:30 PM, more than 56,000 students had submitted their applications through the online system. Of these, over 5,000 requests were for answer script verification, while more than 45,000 students applied for a full re-evaluation of their marks.
The board has integrated multiple digital payment gateways to facilitate smooth transactions, including State Bank of India, Canara Bank, Bank of Baroda, and Indian Bank. Students are not required to hold accounts with these specific banks to complete their fee payments. The online portal, which opened on June 2, is accessible to all students who have already received scanned copies of their evaluated answer scripts. The window for submissions will remain open until midnight on June 6.
Cyber Security Measures Prove Effective
During the application period, the board’s digital infrastructure came under significant cyber threat. Attackers attempted to disrupt services through distributed denial-of-service (DDoS) attacks, flooding the portal with approximately 1.5 million hits within a two-minute window. Additionally, more than 100,000 unauthorized attempts were made to access restricted files. However, the board’s security systems successfully intercepted and blocked over 3.8 million malicious data packets, ensuring that the portal remained operational and secure throughout the process.
Digital Payment Performance
The payment infrastructure has handled the surge in traffic efficiently. State Bank of India’s gateway alone has processed more than 40,000 successful transactions so far. Bank of Baroda, Indian Bank, and Canara Bank have also collectively processed thousands of online payments, demonstrating the robustness of the multi-bank payment arrangement.
