CBSE Class 12 Re-evaluation Portal Faces Delay, Students Left in Limbo

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) had scheduled the launch of its Class 12 re-evaluation and post-result portal for June 1, 2026. However, as the day progressed, students attempting to access the platform were met with a persistent “Under Updation” message, leaving thousands of candidates and their families anxious and uncertain about the next steps.

This technical setback comes after the board had already postponed the portal’s debut from late May, citing the need for system upgrades to ensure a smooth application experience. Despite these assurances, the platform remains inactive, and no fresh timeline has been officially communicated to the public.

What Was Promised Versus What Is Happening

CBSE originally planned to open the re-evaluation and verification portal before the end of May. When that did not materialize, the board pushed the launch date to June 1, 2026, with a statement that the website was being strengthened to handle the expected traffic and prevent disruptions during the submission window.

Yet, on the promised date, students nationwide have reported being unable to log in. The website continues to display a maintenance notice, and there has been no immediate clarification from the board regarding when the system will be fully operational.

Official Communication Offers Little Clarity

In a brief update shared on its official social media handle, CBSE acknowledged the situation but stopped short of providing a concrete launch date. The message read: “Dear students, Verification and re-evaluation portal will go live soon. Official announcement will follow.”

While this confirms that the portal is indeed on its way, the lack of a specific timeline has done little to ease the growing frustration among students who are eager to apply for scrutiny of their answer sheets.

How Students Can Apply Once the Portal Opens

When the portal becomes active, students will need to follow a straightforward process to submit their requests. Here is what the application procedure will look like:

  • Visit the official CBSE website and navigate to the homepage.
  • Locate and click on the “Post Result Activities / Re-evaluation” link.
  • Log in using the roll number, school number, and admit card ID.
  • Select the subject or subjects for which re-evaluation or verification is sought.
  • Choose between the re-evaluation or verification option as per requirement.
  • Fill in the necessary details and complete the fee payment online.
  • After submission, save and print a copy of the confirmation page for future reference.

Understanding the Re-evaluation and Verification Process

CBSE has already made scanned copies of answer sheets available to students. Once the portal is live, candidates can review these copies and identify any potential errors in marking or totalling. If discrepancies are noticed, they may apply for verification of their answer scripts.

Following verification, students can request a re-evaluation for specific questions where they believe marks were incorrectly awarded. The board has clarified that re-evaluation can lead to an increase, a decrease, or no change in the final score. Importantly, the revised marks will be considered final and binding.

What Students Should Do in the Meantime

While waiting for the portal to go live, students are advised to keep their login credentials handy and monitor official CBSE announcements. It is also wise to prepare the list of subjects they intend to apply for, so that the application process can be completed quickly once the system is accessible.

Parents and students are encouraged to rely only on official channels for updates and avoid acting on unverified information circulating on social media. The board has not indicated any change in the application window or fee structure, but further details are expected once the portal is officially launched.

For now, the wait continues, and students are hopeful that the board will resolve the technical issues promptly and provide a clear path forward for those seeking a review of their results.
