CBSE Class 12 Results 2026: Over 70,000 Applications Received for Verification and Re-evaluation

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has witnessed a significant response from Class 12 students following the announcement of the 2026 board exam results. According to the Ministry of Education, a total of 70,433 applications have been successfully submitted through the board’s post-result grievance redressal system as of June 4, 2026.

Breakdown of Applications Filed

The applications received are categorized into two distinct processes aimed at addressing student concerns regarding their performance:

  • 7,314 applications were submitted for the Verification of Marks process.
  • 63,119 applications were filed for the Re-evaluation of answer sheets.

This substantial number underscores the proactive approach taken by students to ensure their results are accurately assessed. The Ministry of Education has confirmed that all applications have been logged successfully within the stipulated timeframe.

Portal Security and Cyber Attack Attempt

A notable aspect of this year’s process has been the emphasis on digital security. The Ministry reported that on June 3, the CBSE portal faced a deliberate cyber attack attempt. However, due to the swift response and vigilance of the technical team, the platform remained fully operational and secure. Services continued without any interruption, allowing students to file their applications seamlessly.

Pre-Launch Security Measures

Prior to the official launch of the verification and re-evaluation portal on June 2, 2026, the board conducted an extensive series of security audits. These rigorous checks were designed to test the system’s vulnerability, assess its capacity to handle high traffic volumes, and implement robust defenses against potential cyber threats. Only after all these comprehensive tests were successfully cleared was the portal made available to the public.

High Traffic and Blocked Threats

The portal experienced an overwhelming surge in activity within moments of going live. In the initial minutes alone, the system recorded approximately 1.5 million access requests. During this period, the security infrastructure successfully detected and blocked over 100,000 attempts at unauthorized access.

Furthermore, the Ministry confirmed that the platform was subjected to Distributed Denial of Service (DDoS) attacks, a common tactic used to overwhelm servers. Despite these aggressive attempts to disrupt the process, the robust security framework ensured that the portal remained stable, and students were able to complete their applications without facing any technical glitches or downtime.

The successful management of this high-volume period highlights the effectiveness of the preparatory work done by the technical teams. Students who have applied can now await the outcome of the verification and re-evaluation processes, with the board expected to release the revised results in due course.
